This page is for our California Free State Shadowrun game. A work in progress.

==Organization==
==Stories==
The characters work for an organization called ((insert name here)), a division of the California Department of Homeland Security (CDHS) responsible for the investigation of unexplained phenomena usually related to Awakened activity, advanced technology, or both. The administrator of this organization reports not only to the CDHS but also directly to the President of the California Free State. The division is largely autonomous from the CDHS itself, though from time to time it enlists the help of the CDHS for additional manpower or investigative assistance.
[[F.A.T.E. Timeline|Shadowrun Timeline]]

Due to the highly important (and highly classified) nature of their work, their budget is largely a blank check from the CFS government.

I'm looking for a name for this "Fringe division", a name with some ambiguity that describes the supernatural nature of their work but subtle enough to be used publicly. Anything with words like "Paranormal" or "Metaphysical" in the name are too descriptive and revealing of the nature of the work publicly. Post your ideas.

*Agribusiness is largest industry
More to come on this obviously.
*Silicon Valley - no longer the tech capital of the world, but still prominent

*Aztechnology is banned from CFS, though they are suspected of operating under a shell corporation called Pyramid Operations.
*Knight Errant security (a subsidiary of Ares) is used in most of California, with the exception of San Francisco. Lone Star is primarily used there (the Japanacorps aren't big fans of Ares running security in SF).

'''San Francisco Bay Area'''
*San Francisco city proper is heavily restricted, much like Manhattan in the UCAS. Special clearance is required to entire the restricted area. Though less segregated than in the past, there is still a lot of class warfare and racial tension in the region.
*The Yakuza and the Triads have a significant presence
*San Jose is now the largest city in CFS in terms of population, as many Californians from moved north when the PCC invaded southern California.

The (Old) Organization

The Federal Agency for Thaumaturgic Exploration, or F.A.T.E., is a division of the California Department of Homeland Security (CDHS) founded in 2069. It is responsible for the investigation of unexplained phenomena usually related to Awakened activity, advanced technology, or both. It is administered by J.P. Redman, a former U.S. marine and former Director of Intelligence of the California Intelligence Agency. The division is largely autonomous from the rest of the CFS government, though from time to time it enlists the help of the CDHS or CIA for additional manpower or investigative assistance.

Due to the highly important (and highly classified) nature of their work, their budget is largely a blank check -- however their source of funding is unknown.

The Infrastructure

  • F.A.T.E. HQ - F.A.T.E.'s headquarters in San Francisco.
  • F.A.T.E. Sacramento - F.A.T.E.'s branch office in CFS capitol, Sacramento.
  • F.A.T.E. Supply Closet - A comprehensive list of items at our disposal available within F.A.T.E.'s HQ or easily obtainable. F.A.T.E. tracks items bought in previous missions as well as loot from missions where the agents return with more than they left with. (And don't keep them for themselves) Van is generally in charge of inventory though officially Mr. Redman keeps the budget.
  • F.A.T.E. Garage - A list of vehicles, drones, and aircraft owned by F.A.T.E. Van is kept busy repairing, modifying, upgrading, and tweaking the vehicles for specific assignments.
  • F.A.T.E. Employee of the Month - F.A.T.E.'s monthly award for going above and beyond the call of duty.
  • F.A.T.E. Timeline - A chronological bulleted list of activities surrounding F.A.T.E. and its agents.
  • F.A.T.E. Future Missions - A discussion of potential or upcoming missions.
