The Situation
- Japanese authorities have surrounded the aptly named Hotel California in the Shinjuku Ward of Neo-Tokyo, where Barry Stearns, Eric Black, and Dmitri are.
Session Synopsis
- Barry, Eric, and Dmitri escape from the hotel, causing quite a scene in the process. The building was partially evacuated after the fire alarms were triggered, and a shootout ensued outside the hotel.
- Doc makes a deal with the Yakuza, arranging to have them smuggled into San Francisco Bay. Agrees to 20,000¥, half paid upfront and half on arrival. The boat leaves Yokohama Bay on July 13 and arrives in San Francisco on July 22.
- Barry agrees to buy Doc's houseboat to use a safehouse for 48,000 payable after FATE is re-established.
- Group is setting up safehouse in San Jose, in a cabin in the wooded hills outside the city.
Aftermath
J.P. Redman has been released on house arrest pending formal charges. It is speculated that the charges against Redman will not include charges like treason that were levied against the other agents. He is still facing a tough legal battle, facing several charges around the misuse of government funds and resources, falsifying documents, lying to investigators, and destroying evidence. Krista Lively has taken a keen interest in the story.
