Briefing
F.A.T.E. agents had been working out of the control room at the Peters Dam Hydroelectric Plant since the incident with the astral rift occurred. They had, by this time, each claimed a cubicle in the control room for themselves. At least the ones that came to work on a regular basis.
Dmitri, sitting in the cube next to Eric, was in his usual trance like state, doing whatever it is he did on the Matrix. But he snapped out of it, and spoke loud enough for the agents around him to hear. "Incoming transmission for Vincent White." Now, they had burnt Vincent's SIN some time ago. But they left one line of communication open, knowing that it was the only way Coltrane knew to get in touch with them.
"It's password encrypted... it will take me some time." He said as Eric stood from his chair. He responded to Dmitri. "Let me save you some time. Try 'manhands'." Dmitri quirked a brow. Eric explained further, "It was our safe word." Not knowing what that meant, Dmitri continued. There was a short moment of silence. Then Dmitri said, triumphantly, "It worked!"
"Damnit Eric," they heard Anastasia from the other side of the cubicle wall. She got up and stormed away. There was a laugh from further down the row. It was Doc. He had heard everything, his cyberears serving as a great eavesdropping tool.
Eric addressed Dmitri. "What's it say?"
"It's an encryption key." he responded. Good. The initial transmission's poor encryption was not suitable enough to send real intelligence over. "Establish a secure communication channel with her, using that key." Eric said. Dmitri nodded.
A few hours later, J.P. Redman pulled Eric aside. They had received some files over the new encryption channel, presumably from Ms. Coltrane. "I've looked over the material, as I'm sure you have, and it looks like we will need a team operating out of Japan, at least temporarily." Their discussion continued. (The details of which will be introduced in Session 23).
"I want you, Doc, and Dmitri to head to JIS and get situated." J.P. said.
"Why Dmitri?" Eric asked. Doc was the obvious choice, being a Japanese native.
"He's been requesting time off for months, wanting to go to Neo-Tokyo to attempt to track down his family. I don't have all the details. But I am afraid he has considered quitting to pursue this goal. I don't want to see him go. Though we paid a hefty price for his freedom, I can't keep him employed against his will. See what you can do to help," J.P. said. Eric nodded.
Dmitri revealed to the team that he wants to track down Sergei Novikov, a man he believes was the person his mother met with on the fateful day when he was taken from his family. Dmitri thinks he has found this man's employee record in an Evo employee database. His entry indicates that he is a legal consultant at a CrashCart Delta Clinic in the Saitama Prefecture, about an hour outside of Neo-Tokyo.

Session Synopsis
Eric, Doc, and Dmitri find Sergei Novikov at the CrashCart Clinic, as they expected to. Eric tailed him as he left for lunch. In assensing Sergei, Eric discovered that the target was himself a technomancer. For a man who made his living picking young technomancers up of the street and condemning them to a life of torture an experimentation, this was somewhat of a surprise. Perhaps he hoped to learn more about his condition by helping fuel these experiments. Perhaps he had sold his long ago to perform such heartless work. Who knew.
