Manami Coltrane, age 30, is the only daughter of Nigel Coltrane, a 4% shareholder of Shiawase Corporation. She is half-Japanese half-Californian human, unmarried, a home-schooled genius (with the help of some expensive bioware), and an accomplished violinist. She can be equally cold and ruthless, skills she picked up as she climbed the management chain at Shiawase. There was no doubt there was some nepotism at play in her rise to President of the CFS Division (though she would never admit it). She is known to enjoy dancing and skiing, and has taken a deep interest in thaumatergical issues despite herself being a mundane.

Within Shiawase, she is loathed by many. Her rise to power was filled with sly social maneuvers and assistance from her powerful family and friends. She is known to be aggressive and is criticized for taking unnecessary risks with company resources. Few in management trust her; and it's becoming a growing problem as Shiawase CFS gains more and more significance on the global stage. Her father Nigel is the head of the Shiawase Marketing Information and Forecasting Department (MIFD), a clever name for Shiawase's covert operation and intelligence gathering division. She is known to have a keen interest in corporate divisions involving magic, despite not being a magician herself.

Eric Black's assensing of Manami revealed a long list of deltaware bioware enhancements. The DNA sample recovered indicated that she has received at least two gene therapy treatments: one to eliminate a shellfish allergy and one to increase her already impressive IQ.

She has several residences registered in her name, and access to countless others in the Coltrane-Shiawase family. Her primary residence is in the Shiawase Arcology in downtown San Francisco. She also owns a quiet seaside villa outside Osaka, Japan, and an upscale condo in Washington FDC.

Manami Coltrane entered a dance competition with another Shiawase employee, Yukawa Sato, ultimately losing to Anastasia and Eric. Sato is under investigation by F.A.T.E. for being an accomplice during Senator Yasuji Shimada in his presidential assassination attempt. His unconfirmed status as a toxic mage is also a subject of investigation. It is not known if Manami has any idea Sato is a toxic mage.

While assensing her, Eric also discovered the presence of rare Glow symbiotes, a creature embedded in her body designed to help her detect astral presence or effects near her.
