11 Elona, 25 ABY - Csaplar, Csilla, Unknown Regions
Allanar found what he expected to find in the bedroom of the Chiss home, though it was no less saddening when he found it. Likely the wounds were still warm from the lightsaber blade that murdered the poor woman, though perhaps that was an assumption he shouldn't make. None the less, the woman had been killed by a dark force that was certainly connected to the events at hand, he was less than an hour late to prevent this foul act. He had little time to ponder what could have been, or even what would come next when his danger sense alerted him of impending danger.
Allanar first reached for his comlink to communicate with Akea, who he first sensed was in danger, but never reached the device before his own danger became evident. Allanar turned quickly as he heard his own com chirp briefly to alert him of the message from Renora, he had no time or need for the message as he broke into an immediate stride towards the outer wall. He turned the corner quickly as he exited the bedroom, spinning around the corner into the hall as he lowered himself and pivoted on the balls of his feet sending him quickly towards the outer wall in a dead sprint.
As he dashed quickly across the hall he focused the force in his body, drawing the energy into his muscles and gathering it to enhance his body to deal with an impeding threat. As he reached the outer wall, without breaking stride, Allanar leaped through the front window of the home with his fists extended forward to break harmlessly through the glass. Allanar landed with an athletic roll to his feet, his force and visual senses scanning the area for the exact threat barring down on him as he continued to distance himself from the house until he could identify a safe distance from the home and a target to confront.
Allanar would either continue to take movement actions away from the house if it appears it is a danger to be near it (if it is about to explode or something) or come to a pause outside of it and confront whatever threat is there. (Join battle)
Enhance Attributes: Control + Enhance = 3 + 3: 7, 4, 9, 10, 1, 6; 4 successes. (I think we discussed this briefly, but like many of our force powers a system has not been settled on. I think what we discussed was that the force user rolled Control + Enhance and gained a number of physical attribute dots for the scene equal to successes divided by two, rounded up. This power may or may not cost a willpower point to use. Obviously we should probably settle this before continuing the scene. If my suggestion stands, Allanar would have two dots to place in physical attributes for the scene. (Max in single attribute should probably be capped by control rating.)
--FyreFly 00:14, 15 August 2010 (EDT)
Allanar vacated the home in an instant. Not sure where exactly the threat was, he made a move for a more open field, the best way to get a grip on the situation. ((awareness roll, success)) Just before crashing through the window, Allanar heard another window shatter from the bedroom he just left. ((athletics roll, success)) He burst through the front window and landed flawlessly on the paved roadway in front of the apartment. Allanar took a quick look around to get his bearings on the situation. The streets were clear of vehicles and civilians, but standing on the roof above the front door of the apartment was a Chiss male looking down at the street, his gaze fixed on Allanar. His red eyes narrowed and he leapt into the air, his lightsaber igniting mid-flight, in an attempt to bring his lightsaber down on Allanar in the middle of the street.
Allanar Join Battle: Sense + Divination + Wits + Awareness: 2, 8, 6, 10, 2, 3, 8, 4, 2, 3, 3: 4 successes
Allanar should receive +4 bonus dice for the Lightning Reflexes Feat. Brian can you add those in and change the reaction count accordingly?
Battle Order
- Chiss 1: Tick 1 (in bedroom)
- Chiss 2: Tick 4 (split actions, Force Jump/Lightsaber attack at Allanar)
- Allanar: Tick 4
((Regarding Enhance Attribute: how does this force power work? A successful roll increases all physical attributes by 1 for the scene? Or is it a shorter duration, increasing it by the number of successes for a specific action (breaking a window)?))
Kirkland 01:58, 18 August 2010 (EDT)
Adjusted reaction count, with Lightning Reflexes considered. Good catch.
Allanar Join Battle: Sense + Divination + Wits + Awareness + Lightning Reflexes: 2, 8, 6, 10, 2, 3, 8, 4, 2, 3, 3, 2, 3, 7, 3: 5 successes
Battle Order
- Chiss 1: Tick 1 (in bedroom)
- Allanar: Tick 3
- Chiss 2: Tick 4 (un-declaring actions since it's not his turn yet)

Depending on how we rule on Enhance Attribute, Allanar has two dots to put into physical attributes for the scene. Allanar would put both into Dexterity, raising it to 6 for the scene. (I think it makes sense for the attributes to exceed normal maximum and instead be capped by force ability. Basically saying you can only raise an attribute by a max of your control attribute, regardless of if you exceed your racial maximum.)
As Allanar cleared the house with an athletic roll back to his feet he turned around quickly, drawing his lightsaber from its hidden position behind his back, he noticed for a moment how much less comfortable this was compared to drawing it from the confines of his typical Jedi robe. He waited for a moment to ignite the blade of the weapon as he looked at the Chiss man on the roof, a glance to the broken window he had just escaped from so that he could watch for the other person who had seemingly entered the bedroom of the house behind him. The use of a lightsaber by the Chiss on the roof eliminated any doubt Allanar might have had that this was simply the Chiss police force, no this was something much more foul. Most likely these two were the ones responsible for the death of Varya's mother, escape was not a preferable option.
Allanar lifted his wrist close to this mouth, speaking quietly into the comlink so that the Chiss would have no chance to hear but Renora would be given a brief message.
"Stay out of this, I can handle it. Get in contact with Akea, I sensed he was in grave danger just before sensing my own. Please try to stay safely hidden unless the situation proves to dire to allow it."
Allanar lowered his hand slowly to the hilt of his lightsaber, giving him a double fisted grip on the hilt of the weapon as he moved it to a defensive position, still not ignited. He returned his gaze to the man on the roof, looking directly into the man's red eyes as he spoke.
"I mean no harm by my presence, however I believe that yours requires some explanation. If you are connected to the events inside this home then I would ask you to surrender yourself into my custody now, and no harm will come to you. If you are not than I must inquire what exactly brings you here? In any case, put away your weapon. It is your only chance."
Allanar delays his action until tick 4 or 5, depending on the action of the Chiss on the roof and if the other presence shows itself from inside of the house. If he is attacked he would ignite his lightsaber and defend himself before acting on tick 5.
Another mechanic we haven't worked out completely, can I use combat expertise to raise Allanar's DV while he is essentially defending? It seems odd that I can raise his DV when attacking, but while taking a defend action I can't? So if possible, Allanar would sacrifice accuracy until his DV next refreshes and raise his DV by 2.
--FyreFly 18:24, 20 August 2010 (EDT)
The Chiss that Allanar spoke to flashed a quick grin, indicating that he at least understood what Allanar had said in Basic and was humored by the notion of surrender. Without responding, the Chiss leapt off the roof. Simultaneously, the Chiss that Allanar sensed was in the apartment, burst out the open window. They were attempted to come down together on top of Allanar with their blades.
They came down and crossed blades as they hit the pavement, however Allanar was no longer there. He rolled to the side with great speed and faced his attackers.

Kirkland 18:58, 23 August 2010 (EDT)
Allanar rolled to the side, springing back to his feet quickly as both attackers lightsaber blades hit nothing but air and the pavement below. Allanar almost let a hint of a smile sneak across his face, though he had been working on a more humbling presence. Allanar's blue lightsaber blade igniting as he took a brief step back into a combat stance, his hilt was raised above his head in the traditional strong style combat posture.
Allanar took one quick step forward as he brought his blade down swiftly in an overhead strike at the first of the attackers, aiming for the undefended soft spot where his neck meets his shoulder. Allanar did not stop there, taking another quick step as he split the pair and moved behind the second, taking another overhead slash down into the exposed back of the second attacker.
Allanar Attack Pool: Dex (6) + LSaber (4) + Control (3) = 13
Attack 1: 11 Dice: 3, 8, 8, 8, 8, 7, 4, 3, 1, 1, 1. 5 successes.
- 5 Successes - 4 DV: Strength + 8L + 1 - 1 = 11L: 4L Damage.
Attack 2: 10 Dice: 10, 9, 10, 10, 5, 5, 5, 3, 1, 1, 1. 7 successes.
- 7 Successes - 4 DV: Strength + 8L + 3 - 1 = 13L: 8L Damage
Allanar Parry DV: 7 - 2 = 5
Allanar's first strike inflicted a deep cut in the Chiss's shoulder. His second strike was even more devastating, as he spun around and split the second Chiss down his backside. The Chiss had vastly underestimated their opposition. Sensing that Allanar had perhaps let his guard down, the surviving Chiss made an all-out attempt to strike the Jedi Knight down (combat expertise +4 accuracy -2 DV), taking a horizontal swipe at Allanar. His desperate attack was woefully short (2 successes on 12 dice, ouch), and left Allanar with an all-to-easy counter attack opportunity. (His DV is 0).
Allanar felt that, perhaps, there was enough time for him to assist Akea if he left immediately. His handling of the two Chiss was exceptionally swift.
((Assuming you neutralize the Chiss in your next post, Renora hasn't had any time to go anywhere and would emerge from hiding if requested. In holding with my understanding of Danger Sense, you get the warning with significant time to react, so if you found a way to quickly head to the city center, you might have a chance to assist Akea. Your roll was strong enough (5 successes) to warrant that.))
Battle Sequence
- Chiss 1 dashes out of the apartment
- Allanar delays action
- Chiss 1 and 2 attack Allanar
- Allanar kills Chiss 1, injures Chiss 2
- Chiss 2 misses Allanar
- Allanar acts
Battle Facts

Allanar stepped back and dodged the horizontal swipe with ease, stepping forward into the defenseless void left by the wild strike from his opponent. He raised the blade of his lightsaber up slowly, pointing it towards the open chest of the Chiss and pausing only long enough to quietly speak a few final words to the man.
"Your chosen path was a regrettable one, your part in these foul deeds comes to an end."
Allanar lunged his arm forward with a flick of his wrist as he stabbed the blue blade of the lightsaber directly into the chest of the Chiss, the blade made a clean piercing of his chest and ran through the Chiss's back. This Chiss slumped forward, Allanar placed a hand on his shoulder to catch him as he deactivated his lightsaber and lowered the now lifeless body to the ground. Allanar stood still over the two bodies that had fallen to the ground with his head bowed for a moment before spoke into his comlink and placed his lightsaber hilt back to it's place under his jacket.
"Renora, time to leave. Akea is still in danger and we must hurry to his aide, we need to get a speeder to the city center as quickly as possible."
Allanar started walking towards where Renora was hiding, looking around as he did for the nearest speeder that they could take to the city center. As he left the bodies on the street he reached back with one hand and used the force to call the two lightsaber hilts of his fallen enemies to his hand. He tucked the two lightsabers into his jacket next to his own before jogging over to Renora. Ideally the two attackers would have a speeder near by that they could take, but Allanar was in a hurry and willing to take more drastic measures if necessary.
--FyreFly 11:46, 29 August 2010 (EDT)
The road the apartment and the battle took place on was a small residential street, barely wide enough for two landspeeders to pass each other. There were none parked nearby; Allanar had the feeling that not many in this part of town could afford one. Renora emerged from her hiding place near the end of the street, which intersected with a larger thoroughfare with a moderate amount of traffic. The traffic at the ground level was primarily that of landspeeder and low-power repulsorcraft. There were a few metrocabs, airspeeders the size of a small bus that made frequent stops at ground level. These were slower than the average airspeeder but had the ability to rise above traffic and most buildings in the city. The ideal craft, personal airspeeders, could be seen high above the street. Though not numerous, there was always at least one visible in the airspace above the roadway. Renora pointed to a few parked personal landspeeders on the roadway and in small parking lots adjacent to it. Sensing there wasn't much time to talk, she had little to say but remained composed and ready to act.
((We're not quite synched up with Akea's timeline yet. The airspeeder has not hit the building yet. You're about 4 miles from the city center, whose buildings are just barely visible as they rise above the rest of the city.))

Allanar regretted the need for the actions he had taken more then the actions themselves, but he would have time to meditate on it later with Master Akea and Grand Master Skywalker. For now he needed to get to Akea before it was too late.
"Our time is already short. There is unfinished business here, but we will have to hope reuniting with Akea will lead to more answers."
Allanar was already quickly scanning their options, never stopping his movement forward while he evaluated their short list of options. The land speeders and low-power repulsorcraft was a viable but limited choice. The ideal craft was going to take time to get a hold of, further more it was unlikely they would really be able to obtain one in a legitimate manner. The metrocabs were the most likely option, they were slower than the preferred transport but they would allow direct and easy travel directly to where they needed to go.
"The metrocabs... They're the best way. Don't suppose the CEDF reserves the right to commandeer such craft?" Allanar had broken into a jog for the nearest stop where a metrobus would be landing momentarily. "You can pilot this thing to the city center right?"
(Allanar would like to find the best way to get to a metrobus as quick as possible, once finding one if Renora can use CEDF status to get it that would work, or paying the guy with the currency they have, or I guess if necessary the old Jedi Mind trick might need to be employed. In any case, Allanar is intending to commandeer the nearest metrobus and have Renora drive it to the city center. Hopefully once on board Allanar will be able to sense Akea well enough to guide Renora to the exact location. Before arrival, assuming all goes well, I'd like another post to clear up any necessary sense/concentrate/enhance attribute actions Allanar might take.)

"I can try," Renora said with a slight smirk. Without leaving any time to respond, she bolted for the metrocab, which had just parked on the opposite side of the street. Allanar followed. Renora pounded on the cab door as it had just closed, and it opened once again. She began yelling in Cheunh, sentences Allanar could only guess meant "Get out!" People began to scramble out of their seats and leave the metrocab in a bit of a panic. Allanar ushered them off, helping in particular an elderly Chiss woman who was quite frightened by all the commotion.
The metrocab driver was a pilot droid and Renora moved swiftly to disable it. From behind its seat she reached over and, perhaps unnecessarily, decapitated the droid by pulling it's head from its torso. She tossed the head into a passenger seat and pushed the droid aside, climbing into the pilot's chair and punching the accelerator. Allanar grabbed a handle near the door as the cab lurched forward. The timing was mildly alarming, as he had just helped the last person off.
- Renora Pilot: Ground - 3 successes
She steered the metrocab in the direction of the city center, lifting it over buildings and into open airspace. The speed was somewhat disappointing, but it was the best option they had. Less than a minute into the journey, 3 military troop transports flew over the cab at a much faster speed, heading in the same direction. "Uh oh," she murmured.
"What is it?" Allanar said, turning his attention to the front viewport.
"Those are CEDF transports, special ops." she replied.
"They're on our side, right?" A legitimate question from Allanar.
"After all I've been through, I'm not sure." Renora had been ordered to act against her government's interests all too recently; she feared that those transports were up to no good given the current situation.
((Almost synched up with Chapter 10... almost...))
Kirkland 00:44, 15 September 2010 (EDT)
Allanar grabbed a hold of the handle near the door, his other arm still outside the metrocab as it quickly took off under Renora's piloting. He glanced back to her as he pulled himself inside and shut the door behind him, he took up a standing position behind the drivers seat while holding onto a hand rail just above his head for support. Allanar was thankful for Renora's vigor and sense of urgency, but he couldn't help but wonder if the moment had perhaps gotten to her. The decapitation of the droid and quick take off drew a hint of concern, though nothing had gone wrong and they were off to as quick a start as they could hope for in such a transport. Instead of lingering on negative thoughts Allanar gave himself purpose and switched his focus to locating Master Akea's presence to be sure they were headed in the right direction.
Allanar's attention was drawn towards the transports, fairly confident they were on target to meet up with Akea, slightly more troublesome was that they were headed along the same line as the special ops transports. He looked down to Renora with a bit of a concerned look at her response, her lack of faith in the Chiss government certainly didn't instill any confidence in him that they would be receiving any back-up today.
"I've got a bad feeling about this..." Allanar spoke with some reservation.
As they drew closer to the city center Allanar reached out with the force to Akea a final time to confirm his location and to project the message for Akea to hold on, and that they would be arriving soon.
--FyreFly 23:05, 16 September 2010 (EDT)
A dark wave of energy burst through the force, accompanied the deafening roar of a Krayt dragon echoing through the city. Allanar could sense that Renora was shaken by the tremor in the force. This was the first indication to him that she was possibly force sensitive. "What was that?" she asked nervously. Allanar focused his attention to the government building that was slowly coming into view. "We're about to find out," he replied.
Before he could give an answer with any more detail, rocks began to fall from the cavern's ceiling above. From inside the cab the clatter of rocks bouncing off the hall intensified. Renora clinched the controls tighter, as she fought to maintain a steady course towards the building.
- Renora Pilot: Ground + Willpower = 2 successes
She stayed the course, dodging a few larger rocks that could have caused damage. As the building neared, she asked aloud to Allanar, "Where to?" Allanar, still studing the viewport, saw two figures on the skyway, recognizing one to be Akea. They were only moments from entering an actionable range, but there were many factors to consider before making the next move. The three special ops shuttles were visible above the south building and were likely armed. And Akea's combatant was substantially powerful, if the dark tremor in the force was any indication.
((You join Akea's battle on Tick 30, it's around tick 24 now. Need to know how you plan on approaching the situation.))
Kirkland 18:46, 20 September 2010 (EDT)
((My initial thought was to have Allanar jump out of the cab and onto the skyway, from a safe distance of course, and then to have Renora fly the ship below us and hide from the transports while giving us an escape route by jumping over the side if necessary. Could use a little more info on the general scene though, message me online if you get a chance.))--FyreFly 22:46, 20 September 2010 (EDT)
((Flying above the skyway would be obvious to the other transports as well as Darth Krayt - all have a clear view of the entire walkway. You could still do that, but even if she flew under the bridge the transports above would likely see her do so. We can continue discussing on AIM.)) Kirkland 00:39, 21 September 2010 (EDT)
Allanar was silent for a moment after the question for Renora, he was clearly focused on what was going on outside of the metrocab and devising a plan on how to move forward. For now they were unseen, the two figures on the walkway were unmistakable and from a distance seemed to imply the fight was relatively even. The transports were equally troublesome, more significantly they presented a very real threat to Renora as well as their chances of escape if necessary.
"Swing the cab around to the north, climb the north face of the building staying out of sight for as long as possible and drop me on the north roof." Allanar spoke quickly but clearly, a military tone that sounded out of place coming from a Jedi clearly leaked into the plan.
As Renora swung the cab to the north and started their climb to the top Allanar continued, "Keep your distance from those transports, they shouldn't have a reason to follow but be careful. Once I'm on the roof go back the way we came in and hide the cab along the east side of the building. If they don't follow you should be safe there until we can contact you."
Allanar paused for a brief moment as he started to move towards the door and prepare for departure. "Stay hidden if you can, stay safe above all else. If you get into trouble contact us by comlink."
Allanar pulled the lever that opened the door of the metro cab as they approached the roof, he moved close to it and held firmly to the handle as Renora made her final maneuvers. Allanar offered her a single departing phrase with a small smirk, "May the force be with you."
