Extremely tired note to self - I switched Akea's vice to pride. This may seem somewhat backwards at first, given his virtue, but he is genuinely humble - he is but a small, small player in the Force's grand symphony, and he lives every moment of his life conscious of that harmony. That said, I also think Akea is probably steadfastly determined not to let anyone see him as being weaker because of his illness, and might take otherwise absurd, self-centered actions to prove he isn't being adversely affected (e.g. forcing himself to act well and undertake missions when he's in poor shape).
