Mask of Winters
The Mask of Winters is a massive creature, standing at least 7 feet tall and wrapped in black funerary garb. The gets his name from the two sided mask that he is never seen without; one side is pure beauty while the other is a face of pure terror capable of enchanting or terrifying even the mighty exalted. The Mask of Winters is followed by bloodied footprints form wherever he walks as if creation itself is wounded by his presence, these effects last until the next full moon. When in battle the Mask of Winter dons solid soul steel plate that screams with the voices of damned children whenever struck and wields a massive black daiklave.
The Mask of Winters brought the reality of the deathlord threat to creation when he attacked the Eastern city of Thorns, his undead army and mighty juggernaut conquered the city despite Dragon-Blooded resistance. This terrifying incident was proof that the Dragon-Blooded Empire was weakening with the loss of the Empress when they did not even attempt to take the city back. However, The Mask of Winters did not go completely unopposed while he was there. More than 5 years after the deathlord set up his rule and rose up a mighty black citadel in the city a group of solars lead by Esenius fought against the deathlord and his forces. Eventually, they would defeat the deathlord, thinking to have killed him. Esenius drove the undead forces from the city and helped to assist closing as many of the recently developed shadowlands as he could, not that there are not more than a normal number of shadowlands in the city.
The Mask of Winters has recently begun to show activiety again, proving that he was certainly not killed by Esenius when he was expelled from Thorns. The Mask of Winters appears to be a major player in the underworld again already, some speculate that he will move on Thorns again and reclaim his citadel while others seem to think that he has some other plan. Little is known about The Mask of Winters since his return, but it is known he certainly has his hand in the conflict in the north over the crater. Some speculate that it is infact his citadel that was his next bold move into creation, effectively claiming the crater for himself. However, there has been no proof shown that it is his, though it was certainly his type of move.
