Background
Malloc Zephren has spent most of his life in a comfortable suburb of Adascopolis, the capital of Arkania. He spent much of his childhood engulfed in the technology around him. He led a spoiled life being part of a very wealthy family, and was raised mostly by caretakers.
He is the only son of Aeris Zephren, a prominent figure of the Arkanian corporate meritocracy. She worked her way into power as a scientist for Arkanian genetics projects before becoming a chief liaison officer for Imperial Intelligence, overseeing many top secret projects across many companies throughout the planet. She is a fierce imperial loyalist and fulfills many Arkanian stereotypes: ruthless, arrogant, and highly dedicated to her work.
Malloc's path in life was carved for him; his mother had him enroll in the Imperial Academy on Arkania at a very early age. He has spent the past few years training there. His slicing skills were noticed and he began to undertake more specialized training for a future career in the imperial military or intelligence.
A few years into his academy training he began to take a more specific interest in the details of his mother's work. He was able to duplicate Aeris's credentials and spent many months perusing the top secret nature of the work she oversaw. The more he learned, the more disgusted he became with some of the projects. But it wasn't until he stumbled across a file named Subject Four that he decided he had to take action.
Malloc was unable to dig up top secret details, but the information he found on was enough to alarm him. It's not easy for anyone, let alone a teenager, to discover that he is the subject of a top secret Imperial Intelligence program. The files left more questions than answers, but one thing he did find was that his time on Arkania was limited. Though he had never been off-planet, he found that soon he would be transferred offworld for the next "stage" in his development.
He came to the conclusion that his entire life up until this point had been a lie. He was only sure of one thing--he did not want to see the future that was laid out for him by the Empire. He collected as much information on the subject as he could, though much of it was still encrypted, and made the decision to flee Arkania.
