Episode XII: The Big Event

Part I

8 Days before the Union Rally

The group arrives back at the garage to regroup and recuperate. They study the information they’ve gathered to piece it all together, the pictures of the facility show that they are construction some sort of modified AT-ST. More specifically, this appears to be similar to an AT-RCT (Riot Control) Designed for use inside of cities. This is relatively odd, as Kuat drive yards already have specialized facilities for AT-ST production. They set up their meeting with Dorian for the next day.

7 Days before the Union Rally

Meet with Dorian at gaming hall-bar establishment in rough area of town, no police presence, but possibly some heavy gang activity. Corynn wins a game of ‘pool’ while they discuss their findings, and Dorian agrees to set a meeting with Tiberius Hunt.

That night at a nice restaurant Coryn and Faleer meet with Tiberius and Dorian. Coryn is extremely direct; all but telling Tiberius that they are a rebel cell, and warning him that there is an Imperial spy in their ranks he wants to get. Tiberius is somewhat surprised by their forwardness, but agrees to get them better access to the rally so that they can find the agent.

After the meeting they do more research on the Union and do some shopping on the blackmarket for equipment they might need. They buy a mix of drugs, security devices, and weaponry for the upcoming event.

President: Owns independent orbital shipyard that the imperials have attempted to shut down, longest tenured member. (Human, Male)
Vice-President: Is known to be buying up property in the industrial night-life district. Gang connections? (Human, Male)
Auditor: Tiberius Hunt - owns several facilities on the ground of Kuat, one of which was recently taken over by The Imperials.(Human, Male)
Treasurer: (Human, Female)
Public Relations Secretary: Most recently promoted to leadership, former KDY employee.(Human, Male)

5 Days before the Union Rally

Receive backstage passess for the event. Conference call with Handler 9 about progress. Get more info on Agent Q’s physical appearance, more money to complete the mission, tell her they haven’t infiltrated the group yet with long term backstories.

3 Days before Union Rally

Scout the convention center: 12 story building, connected to parking garage by sky bridge on the 8th story. Park 2 speeder bikes in the garage on 8th story for future use. Event takes place on 8th floor as well.

1 Day before Union Rally

Rent a truck to pose as vendors for the event. Take in 2 crates worth of supplies: weapons, security equipment, etc. Find a place to hide them in an electrical closet on the 8th floor, hidden under other mundane boxes for disguise.

Day of the Rally

At the parade, Faleer spots a suspicious figure following the Union Leadership, suspects being Agent Q but loses him in the crowd as the parade comes to an end. When entering the facility security spots Coryns weapons and force him to leave them at the door.

Inside the event they attend the public speeches which are uneventful, before the crowd disperses into smaller events. Faleer uses their staff badge to gain access, and steals public access pass to the high class private party the leadership is in. Coryn and Faleer get into the event and blend in with the crowd. All 5 members of leadership in the room.Man suspected as Agent Q is also in the crowd, armed, when they talk to him he says his name is Bolen Talonspyre, a wealthy donor to the Union. Coryn and Faleer move on to socialize with the crowd.

Part II

Coryn alerts security that Balon Talonspyre is carrying a weapon inside the dinner, then returns to the event with Faleer. They find empty seats to use during the formal dinner portion of the event and listen to The President give a short speech. As the dinner ends people start to disperse, but Balon stays to talk to The President and Vice-President, when Coryn and Faleer try to listen in they are discovered and everyone goes their separate ways.

The group splits up, with Castor following Balon, Faleer following Tiberius, and Coryn following The President. The President and Secretary meet up and begin to argue over the inclusion of Alderaanian refugees into their Union - The President favors inclusion and the Secretary does not. Coryn injects himself into the conversation boldly, smoothing over the conversation by boasting that he knows and once rescued the Girard family. The President is highly interested, and Coryn agrees to set up a meeting with The President and Victor Girard. Meanwhile, Faleer has less luck following Tiberius, as he doesn't appear to be up to anything interesting and is quickly discovered by Dorian, who she doesn't tip off to Balon/Agent Q's presence.

Castor reports that security disarmed Balon once he exited the dinner, but that he is now headed in the direction of The President & Secretary just as The President is getting up to leave. As they cross paths, Balon bumps into The President's security and is given a new blaster which he takes into the bar to meet with The Secretary. The President proceeds to leave the event, with Faleer following behind - she manages to discreetly attach a tracking beacon to his car as he leaves. In the bar, The Secretary and Balon discuss their business acquisitions, implying they are at minimum working together, when their conversation ends Balon goes into the back behind the kitchen and The Secretary heads towards Tiberius.

Castor follows Balon into the back with his staff pass, while Coryn follows The Secretary. After a short meeting between Tiberius and The Secretary, the two of them both go through the kitchen into the back room. Castor reports back that Balon, Tiberius, and The Secretary went into a private room with security outside of it - cannot see of hear what they are doing.

Coryn goes for the blaster rifles, but is seen by security while trying to sneak a rifle into the back. Shoots him quickly, but the gunfire is enough to start to alert both the public and security inside the building. Coryn and Castor join up to dispatch the security outside of the private room, before breaking into the private meeting room where Balon, Tiberius, and The Secretary were last seen. Once inside, they find Balon behind cover and armed, not in a mood to negotiate. A fight breaks out, with Coryn and Balon exchanging gunfire as Castor jumps into a brawl with Balon. Proving himself to be a capable foe, Balon fights off Castor enough to knock Coryn out, but is then shot and knocked out by Castor using Coryn's rifle. Coryn's shot to lock the door prevents security from entering the room long enough for Castor to drag both Coryn and Balon's bodies into yet another back corridor, where he discovers Tiberius unconscious body as well.

Meanwhile, Faleer watches the exits and eventually starts to plan their escape, driving the speeder bikes across the skybridge from the garage into the convention center, drawing the attention of the security forces in the main hall.

With Tiberius' help, Castor drags Coryn and Balon's unconscious bodies through the back halls and to the meeting point, where Faleer has engaged security in a shootout. Using the bikes to escape the convention center and meet up with Dorian who has an airspeeder - which they pile the unconscious bodies into the airspeeder that Dorian is piloting; while Faleer and Castor pilot their speeder bikes and escape out the 8th floor of the garage. Not trusting Tiberius and Dorian enough to go to their garage, they are forced to agree to follow Dorian to someplace he knows is secure.
