Episode II: Looking for Refugees in Alderaan Places
Kuat Cell Nine established a safe house in the outskirts of Kuat City: a three-story landpseeder garage in a sector that was primarily occupied by alien species. Castor was able to decrypt the datapad recovered from Cell Eight's base and it revealed a long list of order requisitions for military supplies and foodstuffs. It had a wide range of potential leads, contacts, company names, and delivery addresses. They have sent the list to Alliance HQ for further analysis, but they could already tell some of the names were connected to KDY Logistics and the Alderaanian refugee community about an hour outside Kuat City.
Handler Nine issued a request that Cell Nine extract Cassius Girard and his wife from the Alderaanian refugee community they led. Reports indicated that the Empire was pushing forward and intended to occupy the settlement and arrest or possibly assassinate Cassius. The Alliance felt that he was too valuable to lose, being one of the last living members of a Alderaanian noble house whose family controlled a large portion of Alliance resources. Cassius refused, wishing instead to settle in with his fellow Alderaanians and weather out the Imperial storm. He did not believe the life of him or his family was truly at risk. Coryn and Castor were unable to convince him otherwise, which led them to plan a forceful extraction.
At first the group planned to leverage Cassius's two known mistresses, a Twi'lek and a Cathar, to convince him to leave, but after capturing the two they determined that it would not be enough to convince Cassius. Instead they convinced Victor, Cassius's eldest son, to help them. He aided Coryn with a weapon and let the operatives hide in his parent's bedroom until they returned. The plan was to stun the Baron and Baroness and have Victor convince the rest of the family to flee. The Imperial attack came that very night, and it wasn't until almost midnight that Cell Nine was able to execute their plan, stunning the unsuspecting nobles in their bedroom and fleeing the manor with them and the rest of the House Girard family. One of Cassius's daughters, age 10, broke her leg while being loaded onto the transport. After the nobles were stunned, their bodies were packed into large suitcases before being loaded, for some reason.
Two Imperial scout troopers on speeder bikes pursued the bus full of refugees but were only able to inflict minor damage on the bus before being eliminated by the steady shots of Coryn and Castor. Cell Nine had met and arranged for an Alderaanian Duros smuggler Cort Ky-knomi to meet them two miles outside the settlement to take the refugees offworld. Cort was very compassionate toward this cause and offered to do it at cost to help out his fellow Alderaanians. They loaded the refugees onto the YT-1300 Cloudrunner One without issue and headed on their way. Coryn and Castor accompanied them while Faleer stayed behind to hide the airbus hoping that the team could recover it later.
About halfway back to Kuat City authorities demanded that Cloudrunner One land for a cargo inspection, being a suspicious vehicle fleeing a known combat zone. The group had an extensive discussion on what action to take before ultimately deciding to engage the inevitable Imperial detachment that was sent to intercept. Cell Nine did not disappoint, swiftly eliminating the opposition with precision fire from the quad-laser turrets. The group successfully jumped to the Venir system.
