The World of Darkness

The World of Darkness is a dark, gritty reflection of the modern world we live in. The differences in the world are noticeable, but not nearly so much as to make it an overly different place. Black sedans and black and gray suits are the norm on the streets of just about every major city in the world, the days are shorter and the nights longer with more rain and clouds than average. Muted colors blend together, but the rare vivid colors in the landscape stand out to a further extent. Crime is generally higher, especially violent crime and guns and weapons are much more common on the streets than in the real world. Likewise security is often tighter in places that are supposed to be secure, while lower class areas face even less security than would be encountered typically. Expect metal detectors and security guards at almost any major event or significant building, but don't expect the cops to show up in a reasonable time (or maybe at all) to a crime on the streets. The average person is more jaded and superstitious, they are likely to believe that the inconceivable is happening right before them but don't often expect help in times of trouble.

Scions & Titans

The Scions and Titans have just begun to show up across the globe, and some reports especially internet blogs have started talking about weird sightings and appearances. Several reports claim that people were seen swimming with the Lochness Monster, there have been no reported sightings since and reported sightings of Big Foot have grown significantly. Of course the average person dismisses the reports as nonsense, while hoping that nothing weird happens to them.

Approximately 100 Scions exist around the world, so circles of them are considered to be relatively uncommon, however more experienced supernatural beings have already noted that fate has a way of bringing somewhat local Scions to the same place. This occasional results in cooperation and the formation of a circle, and other times results in conflict among the god's children. Generally speaking the presence of Titanspawn is dismissed as unusual sightings or somehow explained as a regular occurrence gone wrong, some titanspawn actually do not appear in their true form in the presence of beings without legend. (Giants have an unusual but not supernatural look among humans.)

Pittsburgh local news is leading with the story covering the two gang related incidents taking place over the last two days that seem to be connected. Police report that up to 25 people have been killed in related incidents on Saturday and Sunday night, the news is hailing it as one of the most significant displays of violence in Pittsburgh's history. The police have been scare on releasing details but have indicated that they suspect the events to be related to gang warfare and that some of the killings have been extremely graphic in nature. The national media has picked up the story, but with notably less details. The police are launching a full investigation into the matter, as expected, but say they have no direct suspects or leads to share with the media.

Pittsburgh local news is covering a story involving a break in at the Rock Airport in northeast Pittsburgh, a group of approximately half a dozen armed and masked individuals cut a chainlink fence and broke into the hanger Saturday night. Their purpose was unclear as they appear to have departed before authorities could apprehend them, but local authorities have been cooperating in a federal investigation into the incident. The airport was shutdown Saturday night and Sunday while all aircraft and buildings in the facility were extensively searched, the airport is scheduled to resume flights with an increased security presence on Monday morning.
