Tepet Marek is a cannon character in the Exalted universe, more information about him can be found on page 47 of The Manual of Exalted Power: The Dragoon-Blooded. What follows is devoted to how his character affects the story and playing of our game.
Tepet Marek is the third of five exalted children of Tepet himself, since his father's death centuries ago the five siblings have shared the responsibility, and power, of ruling The Great House. For decades the five largely disagreed in the direction the House should focus, just enough overlapped that no real animosity ever developed and the House continued to run mostly effectively. However, since the destruction of The Tepet legions they have set aside their differences to save their once great house. Though their bickering has faded the five elders all seem to be in a state of shock, all the elders have taken an incredibly somber demeanor as the weight of the task set before them weighs heavily on their hearts.
With the destruction of nearly two-thirds of the dragon blooded in his house Tepet Marek was desperate when he drafted the letter to personally ask his most estranged grandson to reconsider his vows to The Immaculate Order. Far more than Udo would ever guess Marek has watched over his grandson since his exaltation, though he has always been distant it was not entirely for lack of interest. When Marek wrote Udo it was with a heavy heart, and with no disrespect to The Immaculate Monks who serve the Order. Udo carried with him several traits that were of incredible value to The House in its time of need, strong breeding was not the least of these, and there is great potential in Udo to become a valuable piece of House Tepet's reconstruction. At least that is what Marek believes. What he hopes.
