Talk:Session 4: Bite the Hand That Feeds
Initial Plan Thought:
Contact him as a third party with "evidence" that the equipment is either being held by a governmental entity or corp w/ extraterritoriality. Tell him that we wont sell him the info, but we will retreive it for a fee. We would then have evidence that he was hiring shadowrunners to perform illegal activities. Leaking that info to the Justice Department, the corp/entity that he hired against, and the media should put enough pressure from different sources that a it would be hard for them to just blackmail him or let him cover it up.
Problems: He is going to want us to work everything out with a Mr. Johnson as well as make the payments and delivery the goods to a Mr. Johnson. If we let him put too many layers between himself and us, he will gain plausible deniability. On the otherhand, if we push too hard that everything has to be him, it might look like a set-up or just be too risky for him in general.

Definitely not a bad plan if we can work around the issue of a Mr. Johnson. The other thought I had carries with it quite a bit of risk, possibly (probably) an unnecessary amount of it. But we could actually let him come into possession of one of the devices through an illegal manner, and then have the government authorities catch him with the stolen goods. With some solid background work we might be able to get the theft or at least some obvious illegal activity pinned solidly on him.
Problems: Involves actually giving away our very valuable stolen property. (correct me if I'm wrong, were there two of them in the truck?)

It is also my understanding that we have two of the devices. It would be unfortunate to sacrifice one of the machines just to protect the other. Also, they are going to want to know how we knew he had the device. We have to be careful not to implicate ourselves in the original theft. It may be safer to get him on something unrelated. New idea: We could kidnap one of his close aides, Mind Probe him and hack his comlink, find a crime or evidence we can "sumble into" that will lead us to him, and then take him down. For the kidnapping we could use large amounts of hallucinagens or something to knock him out and then return him before he wakes up. Obviously this has plenty of flaws and dangers as well, oh also, Eric would never suggest it.
