Background

Tagula is a Guild merchant who, in his younger days, was notorious for his ability to traffic information as readily as he could drugs, slaves, or concubines. In his age, he has risen to a position of reasonable power in the Guild, outranking many of the organization's mortals who are not seated on the Directorate. His knack for obtaining obscure bits of information has served him well, as the Directorate has placed him at the head of enormous sums of capital, charging him with finding suitable causes for their investment.

Tagula's lifetime of financial risk-taking has made him into something of a compulsive gambler, and he frequents many of Nexus's upscale casinos. Despite the public perception of Tagula as a haphazard, loose cannon with a bit too much luck, Tagula is a legitimately skilled banker, having intensively studied the economics of the unregulated merchant market for most of his life. He presently showers the mortal astrologer Takeshi Irugawa with praise and frequent tours of the city nightlife, hoping to earn his favor and glean precognitive information on his investments.
