Background
Sven Maximilian Ahlgren was born to a Swedish immigrant who worked as a museum curator in Philadelphia after obtaining a work visa in the United States after finishing her graduate studies here. Sven was born shortly afterwards when his mother had a fleeting relationship with his father, unknowingly the God Heimdall. Like many Scions his father was absent for his entire life and his mother did his best to raise him, but when Sven wasn't in school he spent most of his time wondering the museum his mother often worked late in. Sven excelled at school at an early age, but like many children he received too little attention and often wasn't challenged by his school work and as he grew older he became disinterested with school and more interested in hobbies. Some of these were a lot more constructive than others.
Despite mild disinterest in school he did well enough to get into most colleges, but probably not the most prestigious, but rather than attend a traditional college he chose to pursue a photography degree at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Photography was one of Sven's most constructive hobbies and studying it full time turned out to his benefit and focused him on the constructive aspects of his life. During his time in college his mother's work visa expired, and unexpectantly was not renewed, due to an error in paperwork according to the immigration office. Her appeal was not granted and after living in The U.S. for more than 25 years she returned to Sweden. She found a much less prestigious position at a small, local art gallery and she continues to work and live there while occasionally keeping in touch with Sven, typically through the internet. Sven has visited his mother's home country several times, but shows no interest in living there.
After graduation from college he found his resources were distinctly lacking without his mother supporting him financially, and only a photography degree to earn him work. However Fate, or perhaps another force, had other plans for him and he was able to obtain a grant to continue his studies at the University of Temple, in the slightly more marketable subject of journalism. After two years he had nearly completed his master's degree with only his thesis project to complete, the subject of which was a photo-journalistic approach on the effects of coal mines on the surrounding wildlife. He spent the summer hiking through the Pennsylvania countryside and collected his data, on his hiking excursion he encountered his father for the first time in his life.

- Sven earns a moderate living as a talented photojournalist and freelance photographer, rather than collect a salary he works independently and his income can vary as a result but he typically makes $40,000 - $50,000 yearly. He rents a nice studio apartment in a young, hip area of the city and drives a fairly new Suburu Legacy.
- Sven owns a collection of various electronics from a smartphone and laptop to a home theater system in his apartment. He also has several well stocked book shelves including books about the occult, his studies in college, a wide range of fiction, and biographies.
- Sven knows a number of media members around the city of Pittsburgh from his work as well as several members of the upper class who he has met either through his work or through mutual acquaintance in his guide.

Rune acts as a guide and mentor to Sven, sometimes in his mortal life, and more often in his supernatural life.

Personality
Sven is a mostly private individual, he is typically fairly quiet and restrained and is especially so in a large group. While it seems like a bit of a loner he isn't particularly put off by people, it simply isn't overly social around them. He has always made friends slowly and as a result of his social deficiencies and fairly frequent movement has very few of them, he doesn't have anyone in his mortal life he would be considered close to. He can be a bit awkward at times, but is a genuinely nice guy for the most part and people who take the time to know him generally find his company pleasant.
He is typically slow to act in pressure situations, though he is a quick thinker he prefers to have a well laid out plan and to stick to it and his calm approach often gives the impression that he doesn't grasp the gravity of the situation. He has a way that he typically sees the world and the best way to accomplish a goal and he rarely diverges from that path, though since becoming a Scion he has discovered there is an increasing need to be able to adapt. Even taking that into account his architect nature shines through in his long term and short term goals and actions as he is always trying to plan and build something better.
