Severnaya: Rumblings of Revolution
Severnaya entered Chronus's room, happy to see that Frost had returned from his trip to the mountain caves. She tossed the hexagonal jade prism to Chronus. "What's this?" he asked, rotating it as he examined.
"The key to whatever it is those guards are guarding in the caves." A silence lingered in the room, as Chronus and Frost were both surprised. They wondered at what cost as she continued to explain. "Courtesy of Dawendae himself, I also have permission to enter. He mentioned a treaty specifically forbidding him to let anyone in, yet was willing to break it at my request. He appeared to be shaken by the recent events at the mausoleum, as far as he knows, Kaliph took out his two top advisers single-handedly."
Frost interjected, "You're welcome."
Severnaya smiled, then continued. "I don't know how long I can play this game with Dawendae. If he finds out that Kaliph is in fact me, we lose significant leverage. And now that End of All Ivories knows that I've been using the mask, I fear it's a just a matter of time. The time has come to end Dawendae's reign and take Covenant for ourselves. If we can assassinate him covertly, I can masquerade as Dawendae temporarily and maintain control. This would also free Hiraku up to help us even further, and who knows what other secrets will be revealed once we are in control of the city. Plus, we know additional Realm troops are on their way. It will be too late to act if we let them get here before we can mount a defense. This is the weakest point we have seen the Satropy at, and I suggest we make our move soon."
