Regaining Legend
Due to our collective frustration with the new virtue system in Scion, which is the only way to regain legend which powers all of the more awesome Scion powers, we've decided the system needed a bit of an overall. We are aiming to keep legend something that cannot be wasted, but also isn't so restricting that players/characters decide they'd rather not try the fun and exciting things we're playing the game for. We're planning to finish our opening chapter with this system and if any tweaks are needed we'll go from there.
Regaining legend is now broken into two different categories: In-Session and Out-of-Session.
In Session
In session characters can fulfill their pantheon specific virtues as normal in the Scion system, however for fulfilling a virtue in session the character rolls his virtue rating and recovers points of legend equal to his/her successes. This should help speed the recovery of larger legend pools as well as emphasize characters fulfilling virtues their characters find especially important, while demphasizing fulfilling virtues the character/player has neglected.
Furthermore characters who fulfill their virtues in moments written by their player-character may regain legend per the In Session rules at the Storytellers discretion.
Out of Session
Out of session a character can chose to spend his time fulfilling a virtue in a less grandiose way, this action is typically less dramatic than fulfilling a virtue in character but is also more time consuming. A character must spend 8 hours in a day fulfilling a virtue in order to roll that virtue and recover legend points equal to successes on the roll. (For example a character with the virtue piety can spend 8 hours praying to roll their piety and recover legend points equal to the successes on the roll.) However, a character can only make one out of session virtue roll per day, regardless of how much time the character spends fulfilling his/her virtues out of session.
