Background
Chaf'ren'oraina is a covert operative for a secretive division within the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet. She posed as the communications officer aboard the NRS Amity under the alias Renora Cordalis. On the day the Bastion Treaty talks were disrupted, she carried out several tasks that allowed another Chiss, Chaf'vay'rakkani to infiltrate the Amity and hijack it, sending it on a microjump to the nearby Rapsis system.
Two Jedi, Allanar Onsai and Akea Oahu, were sent to the Amity to observe the negotiations between the Imperial Remnant and New Republic. Allanar fought and incapacitated Chaf'vay'rakkani while Akea took the Republic delegation to safety. After the Jedi became suspicious of Chaf'ren'oraina, and putting her under the threat of court-martial, she elected to divulge her identity. Although concerned about betraying her people, she became suspicious of her superiors within the CEDF. Among the reasons for this was her assignment, a clear violation of the Chiss Non-Aggression law.
