The game will take place during the High Republic Era. Right now I am thinking around 230 BBY but am willing to discuss.

Morality

  • Under the Player Character Starting Morality Values section you may select 2 options instead of 1 to represent the training and support of the Jedi Order. You may not select the same option twice, however.
  • You can not select the option to lower your morality. If anyone takes a turn to the dark side, it should be during play.

Careers and Specializations

  • Please choose one of the Careers from Force and Destiny. The Jedi career path will not be available as it is presented in the book. While the training Jedis receive as younglings is standardized, it is my understanding that the training they receive as a padawan is not.
  • The specializations under the Jedi Career are available to everyone as universal specializations. As universal specializations, they are cheaper to purchase but do NOT give you additional career skills.
  • Everyone begins the game with the Padawan specialization for free to represent your standardized training. This specialization will not count towards your total specializations for the purpose of buying additional specializations.
  • The Knight and General specializations are available for purchase once you have force 2 and have received the rank of Jedi Knight. Note: The intent is that everyone will be a Jedi Knight after the prelude.
  • The Master specialization is available for purchase once you have reached force 3 and have received the rank of Jedi Master.

Experience Points

  • After you finish character creation, you will get an additional 120 experience to spend to represent your time as a padawan. I think we had discussed 150, but I am thinking a little lower with the difference being made up with other advantages that are being given for training. After everyone makes their character, we can discuss if it should be a little higher. As this additional XP is technically received after character creation, it can not be used to raise characteristics.

Gear

  • All characters will start with the standardized equipment below in addition to whatever you want to buy with your starting credits.
  • Basic Lightsaber - Following the tradition of the time, you would have traveled to Ilum as a youngling to construct your first lightsaber. You can have a different hilt if you pay for the difference in cost from your starting credits.
  • Concealing Robes - These are your basic jedi robes.
  • Datapad
  • Backpack
  • Utility Belt
  • Wilderness Survival Kit

Group Resource

  • Mentor: The characters will continue to receive training from the Jedi Order and so gain the benefit of having a mentor.
  • Starship: At some point the Jedi Order will loan the group a ship for their use on missions. It will technically belong to the Jedi Order, but for most game-play purposes it can be considered as belonging to the players. (You can't sell it for example but are free to modify it. It isn't going to change between missions, unless the players request a change, etc.). Please start discussing as a group what starting level ship would be cool to have.
