Background

Cathak Abel is perhaps the most esteemed tactician the realm has ever seen, almost without question in this age. Abel was certainly the most most likely choice for supreme commander but declined the position, and now Supreme Commander Bracent was chosen. Abel who lacked ambition instead took up a position at the city of Thorns, a realm tributary. Abel valiantly led his forces against the Mask of Winters and his death knights but was out manned in every way. Abel is rumored to be the only survivor of the battle. Upon his return to the Realm he became even more of a recluse than he was previously, taking up a very humble position at the Eye of Creation. Supposedly Abel desired to retire from the military, but due to pressure from House Cathak, most notably his brother Cainan, he was forced to stay in a position of command. Despite his lack of personal ambition Abel is still very loyal to the realm and will occasionally lead the legions into battle if convinced the realm itself is in danger. Most recently Abel fought both at the northern crater and against the anathema army led by Esenius to attack the realm. His involvement in recent events is questionable though he is rumored to have consulted with Bracent and the other generals about the impending war.
