Background

Born on the isolated hovering mountain of Metagalapa, she is the only child of two local miners. Her strange birth defect was the result of a mining accident that resulted in her pregnant mother being exposed to Wyld energies deep in the mountain, most societies would have wanted nothing to do with a child with such a mutation, Metagalapa on the other hand saw great benefit. From a young age she was able to fly using the unique red wings and was able to befriend the primal Hawk-men and speak their language. The government of Metagalapa offered to improve the lives of her parents in order to enlist her services while she was still young, her parents accepted. She was treated well, but was given very little independence throughout her young life. Though her ability to fly might have granted her the ability to get away, the Hawk-Men and Hawk Riders always kept a close eye on her and she never dared attempt to escape. The close watch seemed almost unnecessary has her meek appearance matched her personality, she never dared rebel against the tight control over her life which allowed the greedy to exploit into an odd sort of voluntary slavery.

The relationship lasted well into her late teens, she grew increasingly less happy with her life but continued to see no escape, or never dared to consider it. That was until a young skyship captain 'accidentally' flew too close to Metagalapa air space and was met with a fleet of Hawk-Men and Hawk Riders, what caught his eye was the strange feminine figure flying on her own. Ash talked his way into the society, claiming that he came seeking valuable feather steel to make repairs to his ship and with a flash of jade was allowed to enter for a short time. In that time he made it a priority to seek out Ravenous Moon, never having any interest in the feather steel of the mountain. He staged an elaborate escape, that he called a rescue and she went along with given his charismatic nature and her growing unhappiness in her homeland. She found that her new life aboard the airship 'Geronimo' was far more pleasant that it had been at home and far better than she had expected when she escaped. Ash did not treat her like a slave, she was given independence for the first time in her life and he was more than willing to pay her well for continued help aboard his ship.

Ravenous Moon was the first of several slaves that Ash freed to create a rather unique crew for his stolen airship, she serves as the captain while Ash is away and is extremely loyal and oddly protective of him. She is still young and looks to be even more so, she stands just under five feet tall and is naturally extremely thin with long red hair and bright red bird like wings.

What She's Been Up To

The Veil War

Moon isn't a teenager anymore, and she's had more than a few brushes with death in her young life. The loss of Star and Sky during the Veil War was particularly hard on Moon, though a closer friendship was formed with Naru in their combined effort to get revenge for their fallen comrades. As fellow scholars, artisans, and mortal awakened essence users Moon and Naru have forged a close friendship over the years and can typically be found together whenever both are in residence at the associate village. Over the last several years Moon has been asked to take on greater responsibility, as Ash has allowed himself to be pulled in many directions, and frequently calls upon Moon to shoulder the load. Moon is a critical piece of Ash's growing network and is the defacto second in command at The Waterfall Manse when Ash cannot be there. More notably to The Grass Spiders, Ash allows Moon to captain The Geronimo with much greater frequency, and has even been known to send Moon and The Geronimo in his place to handle Grass Spider business. Though never anything as serious as an official mission, and Ash has ceased that practice since Gyoki paid him a visit. Though Moon prefers when Ash is with his ship, she is a more than capable captain and has a respectful working relationship with a number of The Grass Spiders, even outside of The Circle with No Name. Anton and Tiamat, in particular are senior members who have developed a relationship with Moon due to their more frequent use of The Geronimo to quickly move about The Threshold.

Her crafting interest and ability has also not gone unnoticed among the Grass Spiders, though she uses it most frequently when on board The Geronimo, and Iron Shatters Oak has taken some interest into seeing that she continues that pursuit. That friendship has also led to Oak's concern for Moon's well being and he has started to encourage her instruction in Terrestrial Style Martial Arts. She has been studying Golden Janissary Style with Oak and Nuadha O'Bannon, who has been a long time student of Oak in the Martial Art.

    • Eagle's Eye Potion - Grants the user supernatural sight, adding one extra die to all Perception rolls for five hours. Similar potions exist such as Fox's Ear, Bloodhound's Nose, Exquisite Chef's Palate, and Blind Courtesan's Caress.
    • Hero's Recovery - Effects last for half a day per dot of stamina. During this time a mortal heals injuries as an Exalt does. A mortal cannot receive more than stamina consecutive doses.
