Background
From birth Lazarus was born a warrior. His mother died giving birth to him, leaving his father with little time to serparate military time from family time. As a result, Lazarus grew up learning the life of a soldier in the mercenary capital of the threshold, Nexus.
As he grew in size and ability, Lazarus took a more active (and rather prodigious) role than his father would have liked as a soldier, letting all of the banter and praise of his fellow mercenaries get to his head. At first, it seemed that this would cost him dearly as he was unexpectedly (and brutaly) impaled by the cold jade of a Dragonblooded daiklave during a heating conflict between the threshold and the imperials. It was at this moment, as inconvenient to the gods as it might have been, Lazarus was touched by the glorious light of the unconquered sun. Unfortunately for the dragonblooded and imperial alike that day, no dynasts survived to alert the wild hunt of the new Solar that was on a warpath from that instant in time.
Following his exaltation, his father was unable to handle the reality of what Lazarus had become, and coldly rejected him as a warrior and a son (perhaps only just to avoid a broken heart for the surely imminent death of his only child, or perhaps by the manipulation of those watching from a distance). By lack of empathy expressed towards his father, surely gained from the life of a warrior, Lazarus set out into creation to stake his claim of honor and glory in the world.
