While the story of Aktuelle's childhood is lost to the annals of history, what is known of his tale begins with a lost, troubled young man cavorting the Scavenger Lands in search of the fabled meaning that so many seekHis drifting landed him squarely in the throes of a Great Forks pleasure cult, where hedonism and indulgence allowed him to ignore the perceived futility of his existenceOne auspicious day, during a particularly strong drug trip, the Unconquered Sun visited AktuelleSuddenly, it became painfully and obviously clear -- the hollowness evident in Aktuelle's own life was not exclusive, Creation itself had slowly become devoid of meaning.  The Celestial Hiererarchy had been torn asunder, the unity between gods lostWith their power divided, the gods were gradually losing their connection to creationCreation would not abide well by the Unconquered Sun's ignorance, forced or chosen, and the time for salvation was running short.

Aktuelle's revelation had been world-shattering.  The next day, he turned his judging gaze to the pleasure cult with which he'd surrounded himself, and saw the very depravity against which he had been warnedAs he explained his vision to his fellow cultsmen, he found that the spiritual connection he'd established did not end with the drug tripSomething was different, extra, greater.  Aktuelle was a changed man.  As a Zenith Caste priest of the Unconquered Sun, his first use of gifted power would be converting his former pleasure cult into one of piety towards the greatest of celestial incarnae.

After some time spent travelling the Scavenger Lands spreading the word of the Returning Sun, Aktuelle had another revelation, this one internal. Mortals, through no fault of their own, were subject to the wills and actions of the various spirits and minor gods who had been tasked to govern nearly every aspect of their physical existenceIt was these spirits who must be converted if the minds of men were to be enlightened.  Aktuelle took a pilgrimmage to the South, where he spent some time studying spirits and their interactions with both mortals and one another.  Upon his return, he descended upon Great Forks with a vengeance, ready to return the Unconquered faith to the Celestial Bureaucracy.
Recently, Kit was inexplicably able to harness the Mists of Eventide to bring sleep to the eyes of an entire camp of House Cynis soldiersThis lends credence the claims laid forth by the Gold Faction, as this technique is known to be a form of sorcery hailing from the Terrestrial Circle, a power Kit, given the medium potency of her Exaltation (OOC: Essence 2), would not normally be able to use.

Some suspect that during the course of his research into the workings of the heavens, Aktuelle established himself within a circle of Sidereal Exalted, a rumor which has yet to be confirmed or denied.
As baffled as her observers by this display of power, Kit decided to visit the tomb of one of her former incarnations, and upon discovering it partially ransacked, resolved that she must make the same pilgrimage Brigid, and many other sorcerers after her did in the pursuit of identity and occult knowledge.

On paper, Aktuelle's piety can be deceiving -- He's rather something of an eccentric hotshot in personA perfect physical specimen, he radiates a swagger and charm somewhat unexpected of a clergymanThough he tends to disavow worldly pleasures and conceals his intense faith beneath the atmosphere of the hedonistic, carefree drifter he once was, Aktuelle is quite the preacher; he spends a good deal of his time convincing spirits, whose personalities are nigh short of being hardcoded into Creation's laws, and as a result, he's had no small amount of practice persuading the stubborn and the blind.  Nevertheless, a meeting with the man would leave one wondering if they'd met a priest or a pirateWith a perpetual boyish grin and an insistence on fighting with an enormous Grand Daiklave (which he has very little idea how to properly wield), he is a peculiar hybrid of extravagance and piety.
Given her young age, Kit carries a measure of child-like naivety into Exalted formShe is still impressed by the wonders, both natural and otherwise, offered by Creation at large, and equally as frightened by what it threatens to unleash.  Despite her heightened sensitivity to the light and darkness of the world, she remains determined to experience all that it has to offerFor the most part, Kit is soft spoken, and appears as such -- Her skin is an easy olive shade, baked slightly by her lifetime in the forests of the Scavenger Lands, and the expression worn on her face is most often one of silent curiosity and pondering.  Given her meditative nature, her somewhat sarcastic sense of humor surprises none too few of the people she meets.  Having been an observer most of her life, she has gained an appreciation for the sometimes ridiculous nature of affairs in the world of the Exalted, and as a result, has developed a certain tolerance for the outlandish attitudes of her newfound compatriots, particularly [[Lazarus]], though he may be receiving more slack because of his status as a fellow Solar.

Background

Kit Magnar grew up a lost child adopted by a barbarian tribe. Though she will never know her real parents, it is doubtful she would have melded with them any better than she melded into the tribe that raised her. While she was always kind to and adored by the tribespeople for her amicable innocence and curiosity, she rarely spoke as a child, and preferred to spend most of her time on excursions into the wilderness, in search of some new bit of trivia or sight to see. Though her formal education was sparse, taught only folklore and practical skills by her collective family, she proved to be remarkably brilliant, teaching herself to read and write Rivertongue and Old Realm after only a few visits to civilized locations. Given her prodigal intelligence, wide-eyed curiousity, and propensity for isolation, it came as little surprise to Fury, the tribe's Lunar guardian, when Kit Magnar, after running afoul of creatures from the Wyld during one of her ventures into the forest, was Exalted by the Unconquered Sun under the twilight. Shortly after her Exaltation, she opted to go to Great Forks, a city of great mystical significance. Little known to Kit, the Wyld Hunt had taken notice of the evening Essence-blaze in the forest just a fortnight before, and set into motion a plan that was intended to be a simple trap for three young Solars, but would instead turn into quite an ongoing fiasco.

Presently, Kit is of great interest to the Gold Faction and its Cult of the Illuminated. They believe she is descended from the lineage of Brigid herself, and that her Solar shard will be a key asset in tipping the scales toward the Gold Faction's favor. Along this vein, they have assigned a number of agents to observe, protect, and with subtlety, guide her towards the embrace of the Cult of the Illuminated.

Recently, Kit was inexplicably able to harness the Mists of Eventide to bring sleep to the eyes of an entire camp of House Cynis soldiers. This lends credence the claims laid forth by the Gold Faction, as this technique is known to be a form of sorcery hailing from the Terrestrial Circle, a power Kit, given the medium potency of her Exaltation (OOC: Essence 2), would not normally be able to use.

As baffled as her observers by this display of power, Kit decided to visit the tomb of one of her former incarnations, and upon discovering it partially ransacked, resolved that she must make the same pilgrimage Brigid, and many other sorcerers after her did in the pursuit of identity and occult knowledge.

Personality

Given her young age, Kit carries a measure of child-like naivety into Exalted form. She is still impressed by the wonders, both natural and otherwise, offered by Creation at large, and equally as frightened by what it threatens to unleash. Despite her heightened sensitivity to the light and darkness of the world, she remains determined to experience all that it has to offer. For the most part, Kit is soft spoken, and appears as such -- Her skin is an easy olive shade, baked slightly by her lifetime in the forests of the Scavenger Lands, and the expression worn on her face is most often one of silent curiosity and pondering. Given her meditative nature, her somewhat sarcastic sense of humor surprises none too few of the people she meets. Having been an observer most of her life, she has gained an appreciation for the sometimes ridiculous nature of affairs in the world of the Exalted, and as a result, has developed a certain tolerance for the outlandish attitudes of her newfound compatriots, particularly Lazarus, though he may be receiving more slack because of his status as a fellow Solar.

Her sarcasm, however, is only skin deep, and most likely a coping mechanism. As mentioned above, she is quite sensitive, and at times borders on sheer emotional fragility. She loves to see the people she cares for safe and happy, and, ergo, cannot stand seeing them in endanger or distressed (This is probably a product of her growing up without any specific family -- as she was raised by the tribe as a whole, she tends to lump everyone she develops a personal relationship with in the 'family' category). She is not a complete martyr -- Her empathy is exceeded only by her burning desire to discover the true nature of her identity, whatever that may be, and the secrets held within.

Virtue Flaw

Compassion - Heart of Tears

Sometimes, the world is just too encompassing and massive to handle. So much light, so much darkness, so many lost souls. There is no connection to the overwhelmingly vast sea of chaos that comprises the Second Age -- even the comparatively small square of land most people know as their entire world is too big to wholeheartedly understand -- the difference made by one is so comparatively insignificant that attempts at salvation are futile. The world can only be wept for, as the transgressions of the past have destroyed hope for the future.
