Wayland

From The Whereabouts

History

Wayland was once the smallest city in the satrap of Frostgate, holding a little less than 5,000 people in the small space where the mountains meet The White Sea. Wayland was the youngest and smallest city in the satrap and served as a secondary mining town with access to the northern mountains which are less rich in Feathersteel than those near Covenant.

Dreaming of Yesterday

In exchange for the help of the local barbarians, led by Diamond Ice Hunter, against the forces of The Realm Wayland was sacrificed to the horde. The city was raided and destroyed shortly after the defeat of the legion that attacked Covenant, luckily a majority of the citizens were able to escape to the other cities in Frostgate with the help of Adamant Frost Lord. For the most part the 3,000 to 4,000 citizens that escaped the city were split between Orok's Basin and New Covenant, replenishing any lost population from the attacks on Frostgate.

Where the city once was there is not mostly only ruble, though Frost has privately begun clearing it away and the dead have all been given proper burials. Overtime Frost has commissioned several local artists to build a small monument at the burial site, the monument now stands as a symbol of the sacrifice the citizens of Frostgate paid for freedom.
