Talk:Session 6: Ellison's New Year's Ball

From The Whereabouts

Roles

Prior to the mission we need to figure out what role everyone will be going as. J.P. Redman and Anastasia are all going as themselves, but other agents should not. Fake identities can be created as needed; they will need to be important enough to have been invited, but not so much that it's unusual or suspicious that an agent is playing that role. I don't envision everyone going (Hector and Van aren't). Someone needs to go as Ana's +1. Oni's attendance is up for discussion, his presence is nice insurance against physical confrontation but you risk letting these companies know of his existence. And before you say it, no, Oni should not be Ana's +1...

The pre-work for this mission will largely be coming up with the fake identities and then figuring out how to use them. We need to come up with ways to get the data we need from our targets - distracting them (or their entourage), picking their pockets, isolating them, somehow getting a DNA sample and fingerprints, etc. It might be beneficial to assign some agents specific roles. For example Ana has fairly good Perception and would be a good "watcher" for the group, keeping an eye on the locations of the targets and such, but she'll likely be tied up socially being the first daughter. Starting having a few thoughts on what can get us into the situation. I was thinking that Eric would be the most natural choice for Anastasia's date to the event. I thought he could go under the disguise of a University of Cal, Berkely Graduate Student. This seems fitting both for Ana to be dating a smart, ambitious person of that age and for Eric to be able to naturally play the role since he was a student at the University. If we wanted to increase our presence at the party I thought it would be reasonable for Ana to travel with a guard, Oni or Wex could play that role. I'm not sure how good of an idea it would be to increase our presence with the less socially graceful members of FATE. (Oni could also attend as a favor to the general he has as a contact, though that seems risky as it limits what Oni can do without making the general look bad.)

I thought we could get Doc in as a surgeon at a local DocWagon Hospital, he has the training and knowledge of the field to be convincing. This would also give him a bit more of a free pass to roam the party and speak with who he wanted without getting an overly guarded response. I figure people might be somewhat careful with what they say to or around Ana or her date, simply not wanting to offend the First Daughter. They might have a similar feeling about an executive from a megacorp, and it brings in a variety of complications with rival megacorps. As a doctor he could have gotten invited (A well respected surgeon who performed surgery on someone of importance perhaps got him the invite?) and would carry with a few less prejudices.
