Background

Exaltant Willow was born in the town of Aerie Peak before it was devoured by the swamp, when Aerie Peak was nothing but another small farming and fishing village that paid tribute to Nathir. Willow was orphaned at a young age by disease, she moved to the streets of Nathir where she learned to survive anyway that should could. Luna beckoned her at a young age, and she disappeared into the wilderness for many years until everyone who had known her had forgotten about her existence, she was assumed to be dead somewhere, no one really missed her. When Willow returned to the town of Aerie Peak many years later it was struggling to survive, much of its farm land was being destroyed by the growing swamp. Willow had a plan to save her small town, and with great care and genius she executed it to perfection. She designed the architecture necessary for the town to flourish and grow, even upon the thick, murky swamp water, she traveled across the countryside urging people to become new members of the community, she built a series of alliances that would eventually unite the Kurosawa River's surrounding lands, and she trained many of the warriors that make up the coalitions impressive military force.

Without her Aerie Peak, and many of the near-by villages would no longer exist, instead a growing empire of free people is rising from the swamp lands declaring themselves independent from all outside influence. It was not long after the creation of this government that Willow removed herself from its official business, she could help it grow best from another role. Now she is commonly known as The Patron, viewed as a protector and blessing, she is a religious leader and political advisor. With her delicate political guidance and dedication to protecting her lands she has created a new, independent nation that she hopes to see rise to rival The Hundred Kingdoms and Confederation of Rivers.

Personality

Exaltant Willow's most defined characteristic is her dedication to her cause, she is a fanatic in every sense of the word. For years she has worked tirelessly to achieve her goals, she is finally starting to see her hard work coming to fruition. Willow has worked alone against the forces that would see her region collapse; mortal empires like The Hundred Kingdoms and Convention of Rivers desire the territory, otherworld forces of the Wyld and Underworld have often tormented these lands, not to mention the river god's flood of her beloved home town. Overcoming all of these hardships has turned her into a sort of loner, preferring to keep her contacts numerous and distant rather than allowing anyone to get too close to her. Despite her lone wolf mentality she is generally kind to those she first meets, as long as she feels their intentions are pure, her kindness to strangers is not more important to her than the continued safety of her people.

Willow is inherently weary of other exalts, as she knows they often seek power, and more commonly have the means to cease it. She rarely trusts individuals, even ones she has know for long periods of time, but she is even less trusting of the larger kingdoms and organizations throughout the world. She is a student of the lore and occult, but rarely has the patience for riddles and the overly indirect. She is not a fan of deception and lies, preferring to give her opinions directly and while she is quite adept at detecting the lies of others she often grows frustrated with those who would attempt to deceive her.

Defining Quote

"History will be kind to me for I intend to write it."

Relationships

Arisu Michi

"What scares me most about Arisu is that she is so deeply buried into the world of manipulation that she is unable to see outside of it. She only sees people in the scope of their effect upon the world and upon her, she has distanced herself from humanity and compassion by convincing herself that she hasn't. Part of me pity's Arisu, for her deceit has run so deep she has even deceived herself."

Saros

"Saro's quest for power seems self-motivated and to involve very few others, a refreshing and disheartening fact. He lives a life hidden away, masked by shadows and deceit yet I think deep down he hopes to escape. Unfortunately for Saros the Star-Gazer's ability to manipulate destiny does not extend far enough to change their own."

Lazarus

"His blunt honesty is refreshing in this world where it seems everyone tries to deceive one another, even when they work together. His quest for power seems good intentioned, but the Sun-Kings always were chrasimatic leaders, what worries me is rash decision making. With the right guidance he could be a great leader, but it also wouldn't surprise me to see him go the way of his ancestors."

Sinharat

"Sinharat has been nothing but forthcoming with me, his heart and mind are with the people but I can't help but get the feeling his life in the shadows has hardened him. He probably considers this a strength, but there is something frighteningly familiar about his quickness to judge and dehumanization of those who do not agree with him."
