Episode IV: It's a Trap!

From The Whereabouts

The team met with Handler Nine. Intelligence analysts had finished analyzing the datapads Cell Nine had recovered at Cell Eight's base of operations in the Kuat mining mesas. She provided a The Asset on "The Asset," revealing that the individual was a Jedi in hiding on the abandoned mining world Drurish in the Kuat sector. One of Cell Eight's primary responsibilities was to maintain contact with the Jedi outcast and ensure his safety. With Cell Eight eliminated, the Alliance has no way of contacting him.

Analysis also revealed more information about Cell Eight and Eyron Javis's relationship with Rustin Telock, CEO of KDY Logistics. Javis and Telock had an arrangement that essentially used Cell Eigth as a hired mercenary force for KDY Logistics in exchange for weapons and equipment for the Alliance. Cell Eight was contracted for a job on the chemical rich moon of Redrish VI, though they had no details on the operation. Handler Nine recommended the group meet with Telock as it was their best lead. Telock was registered for a sabacc tournament at the Tekshar Falls Casino.

All 3 agents registered for a smaller sabacc tournament where Castor won the team a seat at the main tournament. A few days later, before the tournament even began, Coryn was able to set up a private meeting with Rustin Telock in Telock's private suite. Telock appeared to like the idea of Coryn's team replacing Eyron's and revealed that he had indeed contracted Eyron to infiltrate and disrupt a hypermatter facility on Redrish VI. Coryn agreed to take on the mission, and agreed that future correspondences between the two would occur here at the casino.

The team hired Cort to shuttle them to the small moon where they successfully infiltrated the hypermatter facility. The facility was largely automated making it relatively easy to sneak into. During their sweep of the facility they found the body of Kyra Keel, the force-sensitive member of Cell Eight, slumped over a console in a large conference room. Her comlink revealed that they had been "set up" and she quickly blurted out that she met the Asset at an abandoned temple on Drurish. She speculated that her persuer was "looking for the Asset" and that the Alliance should "keep in contact with him at all costs." Shortly after she was killed by what appeared to be a lightsaber as the recording ended.

Further complicating Cell Nine's retreat from the facility, a skilled bounty hunter had been tracking them. He finally confronted the group on a small pipeline catwalk over a hydrocarbon river. Faleer was seriously injured but the group managed to gun him down. Before fleeing the scene, Castor recovered the bounty hunter's comlink, which revealed communications between him and KDY Logistics. He had been hired from the start to hunt them down. Telock was not as honest as he seemed, but the reasons for him wanting the group dealt with so quickly were less clear.
