Clayton Osmun

From The Whereabouts

Dr. Clayton Osmun is perhaps the most well respected and well known name in the scientific field of alchemy. He holds a research position at Harvard University where he has been a leading researcher for more than 20 years, never actually holding the position of professor as he has never taught classes or advised students. For an unknown reason Dr. Osmun is incredibly loyal to Harvard University, and has never considered taking another post, though he has been offered countless ones.

In the summer of 2065 Mitsuhama forcibly extracted Dr. Osmun from Harvard University in an attempt to recruit him as one of their researchers on cutting edge thaumaturgical research, a practice that had helped MCT climb to the top of the magical research world. Dr. Osmun had other ideas. Dr. Osmun was extracted from MCT and back at Harvard University before the start of the fall semester of classes, no corporation or Harvard ever took credit for the extraction. Ever since Dr. Osmun has kept security around himself tighter than normal, he pays for this security himself as Harvard does not provide it's researchers private protection. (At least this is what the records show.)

Platform Harvest Incident

F.A.T.E. investigates the possibility of Dr. Clayton Osmun's involvement in the stealing of the orichalcum alchemy device from MIT&T labs in early 2073. In April 2073 F.A.T.E. agents borke into Osmun's apartment, killing his body guard, and mind probed him about the incident. While Osmun seemed to have some knowledge of the device and incident, he also appeared to be uninvolved with the direct theft of the device. As a result, and with their time expiring, F.A.T.E. left the Doctor to continue his research. He had given up the most important piece of information to J.P. Osmun revealed that Novatech had tested the device on Platform Harvest, the obvious implication being that they were responsible for stealing the device and funding the terrorist attack on the power plant.
