Background

Hasegawa has battled nearly every obstacle imaginable to climb to her position of power in the Greater Chamber. She was born originally to a mortal family, and lived most of her life as a lowly maid to the children of various patricians. As she grew older and more experienced in her profession, she was honored with the task keeping for the children of a Dragon-Blooded senator. This trend continued, and she served in the homes of several politicians, ever mindful of her place as a servant, but always keeping an open ear. Throughout her various tenures, she learned a great deal about Dynastic society and its political state of affairs.

It was not until after over thirty years of her mortal lifespan had passed that the blood of the Sextes Jylis made itself known in her being. Having Exalted far later than most Dragon-Bloods, she was no better off than a lost egg, present on the Isle though she was. After a cooperative effort on the part of her family, her lineage was traced back a Cathak bloodline. The House, though glad to receive another of Gaia's chosen, were none too pleased about her lack of formal education, weak blood, and lack of offspring.
