Background
Mnemon Chronus was born on the Blessed Isle. He was born the first child of a prestigious family in House Mnemon. Both of his parents were powerful Terrestrial Exalts, and he is a direct descendant of Lady Mnemon and the Scarlet Empress. Everyone knew he would be destined for great things. No expense was spared for his education, and by the age of 5 he had surpassed all of his peers. That year his parents gave birth to their second son. He had set the bar high for his sibling, but he expected him to live up to it.
When Chronus wasn't the first of his class to exalt, some were surprised, but his family wasn't worried. When nearly half of the children with his breeding and age had exalted, rumors began to spread. Chronus was supposed to enter the Heptagram after primary school, but because he had not exalted, he was denied entrance. He ended up in the Spiral Academy where he surpassed many of his dragon blooded peers. It wasn't until his younger brother exalted that he gave up hope of his own exaltation. He went on to graduate near the top of his class, but it no longer mattered. He had given everything he had, but it was irrelevant. He failed them. He was ashamed.
