Pre-Exultation

Arisu was the child of two successful Guild merchants. She traveled the East with her parents in the great caravans and spent a season or so in each location. She would make friends, connections, and attend schools while there and then move on. When not at a school she was given a rigorous education by her parents and other Guild members about law and trade. At 16 she attended a guild academy in Nexus focusing on law and trade. She excelled in all subjects and was well liked by the faculty and her peers. She also discovered she had a knack for influencing the thoughts and opinions of her peers through subtlety. She was expelled in her final year when it was discovered she orchestrated a mass demonstration of her peers to win a bet. The professor they rallied against was fired despite his innocence in order to safe face amongst the parents of the children who all insisted in a cover-up. The dean of the academy expelled Arisu very publicly, but in private he was very impressed. He passed her name on to the division of Market Manipulation and Price Control of the Guild. She was quickly offered a job and given her own office.
