Background
Jubilant Lion of the Sky was born into a relatively modest tribe of Ice Walkers, he was an only child as his family had barely enough food to support themselves. Their tribe had been the victim of a plague, not one that wiped out their tribe but rather one that had destroyed most of the herd that they followed. Because of this the tribe was unable to support its own population and it had begun to slowly shrink and be pushed further and further north by other Ice Walker tribes. That was before Jubilant Lion came of age. Jubilant Lion was a soft spoken boy who did not take much to anyone, including his own parents who often felt the child was possessed in some way as he sulked alone and acted unlike any tribesmen they had ever seen. He was a physical specimen however throughout his younger years, despite the lack of food and grew into a strong man capable of bringing down the mightiest mammoth on his own, with nothing but a dull spear and his own cunning. These traits that would go own to make him an excellent Chosen of Battles carried him on to become the most prestigious hunters in his tribe, perhaps throughout all the Ice Walker tribes. His tribe flourished as he reached the age of 18, living off what his tribes hunters could now provide, trained by the young huntsman. However, Jubilant Lion did not stay with his tribe much longer after that.
He was hunting a pack of bison solo when something spooked the herd and they stampeded away before he could get a kill, it was the first time he had failed to bring home supplies. To his surprise it was a lone figure, rising out of the snow covered in heavy furs that had spooked the herd, the figure started to approach. He soon realized the figure was there for him, it spoke to him and convinced him to come away with him. Telling him it was his destiny to be greater than this. After 6 months in the mysterious city of Yu-Shan he had become familiar with the bureaucracy that governed the city and the civilized world; that was all the time that he needed to wait before his previous incarnation was killed and re-manifested within him.
It was still early in the years of the Empress' reign and he was immediately recruited by the Bronze Faction and stationed in the north, where he was most familiar. He served the Bronze Faction often dealing with the tribes that roamed over most of that area and commonly leading the city states that were loyal to the realm to destroy particularly troublesome tribes. Because these tribes could not be fought like a normal military unit his expertise with the terrain and tribe movements made him an immediate expert in guerrilla warfare. It was in this duty that he served until the disappearance of the Empress and the reappearance of the solars.
Jubilant Lion did not immediately defect from the Bronze Fraction, but rather he spoke in secret with high ranking members of the Gold Faction, eventually leading him to speak with a new solar in the north, The Bull of the North. He spoke with him on only a few occasions but he secretly manipulated the strings of fate that helped to keep The Bull of the North from the Realm long enough for him to accumulate the power he needed. When Jubilant Lion was asked to lead the forces of the realm against the growing threat of the northern tribes he accepted, but it would be his last mission for the Bronze Faction. After leading the legions into the deep north he abandoned the army to its own devices, claiming more important duties pulled him away from the army, something that may have been previously arranged by the Gold Faction. History tells us that the Bull of the North destroyed the realms legions who were out maneuvered by the well led tribes of the north, the Bronze Faction never contacted him again. Despite a criminal audit he managed to avoid any blame for the debacle officially, his defection into the Gold Faction says all that it needs to as far as the Bronze Fraction is concerned.
Jubilant Lion is now a powerful player in the Convention of Air, one who was both surprised and excited by the stunning misfortune that has nearly destroyed the Bronze Faction's firm hold on leadership of the convention. While not yet powerful enough to become the chair yet himself he is strongly supporting a Gold Faction candidate and doing all that is within his power to see it done. While this has occupied much of his time as of late he also serves several other duties both for the Bureau of Heaven and the Gold Faction. To the Bureau of heaven he is most known for his work within The Convention on the Wyld and his leadership in tactics against the fae; but to The Gold Faction he has served as an invaluable teacher at The Sequestered Tabernacle, teaching newly exalted solars the tactics they will need to overthrow the mighty Realm.
Personality
Jubilant Lion is a serious man, not because it is his nature, but because he has seen what stands between humanity and stability. Many years ago Jubilant Lion was not so serious, he was a man who saw hope around every corner, he was the type of man who had infinite confidence in himself and his allies. He still believes in himself and his allies, but he is no longer sure that they alone can stand before the numerous enemies they now face. That is why he chose to join the Gold Faction, not because he believes what was done is wrong but rather because he sees now that the power of the sun is the only power that can permanently drive away the darkness that creeps in from all sides. Despite all of this he still has hope, and he still has many joys in life that we wishes to protect.
His former self is most evident when he is teaching, either his young sidereal apprentice or a new recruit at The Sequestered Tabernacle, at these times he is most relaxed. He can still be a strict master and he demands nothing less than perfection from his pupils, but this is not out of wickedness but only because he does not wish to seem them unprepared. He has a surprising charisma for a former barbarian hunter turned ruthless sidereal tactician. Despite his love for teaching he is unable to do so as much as he would like, his duties in the numerous conventions he serves keep him patrolling the borders of creation far more often then he would like. Recently he has been able to devote more time to his duties as a teacher because the in-fighting over the new convention chair of air has caused a rather sharp decrease in missions. Jubilant Lion has been known to be a bit critical of the in-fighting that occurs between factions especially, as he would rather see the Bronze Faction in charge than no one. This has led him to remain mostly out of such faction feuds, though it is quite widely known that the Bronze Faction still holds a slight grudge against their former companion.
Jubilant prefers to spend what little time he has for luxury with people rather than relaxing by himself, quite an evolution from the once quiet tribesman from the north. He is generally well liked by those who he has not directly crossed, and even then they rarely hold much of a grudge because there is a sense that Jubilant Lion is genuine in most if not all of his endeavors. While this can be a helpful deception, it is more commonly true than not.
