The story is still aways off but I was coming up with names and ideas and finding pictures, and figured I'd just as have them written down here as anywhere.
For those feeling ambitious: Grass Spider Template
Martial Arts
I've given this style some thought - it's based on the jumping attacks of the Grass Spider, so it will be highly acrobatic and surprise attack based. Form weapons are based on the spiders' main forms of attack - its web (rope, fighting chain, chain daiklaves, kusarigama), its fangs (short daiklaves held in a reverse grip, kama, daggers), and its hairs, which are thrown as a form of self-defense (darts, throwing knives). Things you'd see a ninja frequently wielding are also comfortably in-form for the style (nunchaku, shurikens). Improvised weaponry (bar stools, garroting wire, yeddim carcasses, wagon wheels with bombs strapped to them, grand pianos, angry villagers, and a corrupt justice system, to name a few) is encouraged enough by the instructors of the style that most of it is probably in-form too. So long as its over-the-top, extremely cool, or both, I'm probably going to let it fly. Things that are straight Melee weapons (axes, daiklaves, tetsubo, goremaul, etc.) that aren't explicitly mentioned above are probably going to stay Melee weapons, though.
It is a Terrestrial Martial Art, and does not permit the use of armor. For what it's worth, practitioners require Athletics 2 and Stealth 2, but this requirement is already fulfilled by the minimum Grass Spider abilities. In the unlikely event that a non-Grass Spider were learning the style, they would need Athletics 2 and Stealth 2.
Moments
These are short dialogues, hits, thefts, etc. Just random character interactions posted for fun - they don't necessarily have any chronological order or plot implications to them, but sometimes it's nice to see what the characters are up to out-of-session.
Circles
In addition to the Three Elite Fiends and a large network of associates, five circles make up the core membership of the Hallowed Order of the Grass Spiders.
((I've basically been creating circles as I come up with ideas for them and filling their ranks with people I've found sweet pictures for. That's about as deep as I've taken it - if you come up with a cool picture or idea for a cool Grass Spider, let me know, and I'll throw them in one of the circles, there are plenty of empty slots to fill. I have no opposition to people playing multiple characters (though I'd prefer people not play two members of the same circle) if it strikes their fancy. Between the four of us, I expect eventually to have all 25 members of the Order created, though not necessarily statted out.))
The PC's Circle
The youngest circle in the organization, this circle has been formed from recently made members of the Order.
- Lord of the Ashen Cloud (Caste: Fire) (Player: Tony)
- Mesa (Caste: Wood) (Player: Dan H., ST-PC)
- Opal (Caste: Water) (Player: NPC)
- Brian's Character (Caste: Air) (Player: Brian)
- Dan's Character (Caste: Earth) (Player: Dan)
The Lankhmar Harvestmen
In terms of combined age, the Lankhmar Harvestmen make up the senior-most circle in the organization. Although they are still assigned contracts from the Fiends, they do field work less often than the other four circles in the Order of the Grass Spiders. Many of them carry out internal administrative work, which includes managing the Order's surprisingly vast network of safehouses and associates in the East and Confederation of Rivers, as well as assisting in the development of new charms, spells, Manses, and so forth.
The Shaded Templar
- Aleni (Caste: Fire)
- Cello (Caste: Water) (Player: NPC)
- Mercurial Carp Courier (Caste: Air)
Minstrels of Eden
- Whitaker (Caste: Water) (Player: Tony)
Undetermined
- Sky Smashing Maiden (Caste: Air) (Player: NPC)
- Valen (Player: NPC)
- The Champagne Vagabond (Player: NPC) (Caste: Earth)
