If we start playing Star Wars again, I want to start over. I am really struggling with a group of characters with very loose connections to each other. It's very difficult for me to put a story around it and it's difficult to keep the interests of all characters in mind and still keep the group together. Especially since Star Wars is our secondary game, I think it would be beneficial to have a very defined sense of purpose for the group. Some examples of the type of group I would like to see:

Especially since Star Wars is our secondary game, I think it would be beneficial to have a very defined sense of purpose for the group. Some examples of the type of group I would like to see:
*Let me continue this thought later... got very busy
*Cohesive military unit - Starfighter pilots, special forces, etc.
*Elite intelligence unit - Imperial or Republic
*Group of smugglers or pirates
*Group of Jedi
*Team of assassins - sort of copying the Grass Spiders concept but it'd be equally cool in Star Wars

I also want to re-examine the time period. I much prefer post-ROTJ as opposed to prequel era Star Wars. I don't know if it's the inferior quality of the prequels and the Clone Wars movie or what, but after playing for a few months in the post-Thrawn era of SWC, I'm just loving that time period. If there's a strong preference to stay pre-episode-I then I will oblige, but I urge reconsideration.

I'm also going to shift to a one-session-resolution type of style, no ongoing campaign or extended mission, since we could go months at a time between sessions.

Thoughts?

Starting Over

If we start playing Star Wars again, I want to start over. I am really struggling with a group of characters with very loose connections to each other. It's very difficult for me to put a story around it and it's difficult to keep the interests of all characters in mind and still keep the group together. Especially since Star Wars is our secondary game, I think it would be beneficial to have a very defined sense of purpose for the group. Some examples of the type of group I would like to see:

  • Cohesive military unit - Starfighter pilots, special forces, etc.
  • Elite intelligence unit - Imperial or Republic
  • Group of smugglers or pirates
  • Group of Jedi
  • Team of assassins - sort of copying the Grass Spiders concept but it'd be equally cool in Star Wars
