Character Creation: Concept
Character
- A native of the Island of Manta, a rival of Azure before being annexed centuries ago. Born and raised on the docks of Manta City, he was an orphan boy forced to fend for himself in a harsh environment. He possessed two qualities that allowed him to survive, a fierce tenacity and a unique talent for talking and turning others to his side.
- As a street urchin he hated the Azurite Empire, which made him a logical recruit for The Maw of Siakal, an underground and forbidden cult that worships The Western War Goddess of battle and bloodshed, Siakal. Worship of Siakal is strictly forbidden in Azure as it often involves extreme violence and human sacrifice, and just as importantly Siakal is The Ocean Father's chief rival in Heaven. None the less, The Maw of Siakal persists in Azure and is particularly common among the privateers of the Azurite Navy who frequent the docks of Manta City.
- His talents for persuasion eventually allowed him to rise through the ranks of The Maw, becoming one of their most effective recruiters.
- However, that attention would be his eventual downfall as The Fourth-Echelon Magistrate Sem Teong, who is known to be hunting the Maw of Siakal, found and arrested him. Sam Teong sought to make an example of him, and he was sentenced to execution by being cast into the legendary Kraken Pool.
- He was not killed in The Kraken Pool, as The Western War Gods Siakal and Typharos chose him to be their Exalted Champion and rescued him from certain death to imbue him with Exalted Power and charge him with a mission to sow the seeds of revolution and be the spark that lights the powder keg of conflict across The West. Not only with the violence of war and revolution benefit The War Gods, it may force Heaven's hand in anointing a new ruler of The Ocean Court, with Siakal making a strong play for the title.
---
- Typharos, The God of Mutiny, Flame of the Ocean, The Western God of Revolution and Violent Uprisings is an often overlooked member of The Ocean Court, and a discreetly strong ally of The Goddess Siakal. Typharos was a critical factor in The Ocean Father being demoted by heaven centuries ago from God of the Great Western Ocean to God of the Northwest Seas, while the Ocean Father is still The Ocean Courts defacto figurehead until Heaven appoints a successor, it is clear that The Ocean Fathers power and influence in the West is waning. Siakal, and her allies, including Typharos have long worked to foster that downfall and seize on the opportunities it presents.
- Siakal, known as a particularly untrustworthy and bloodthirsty Goddess murdered a rival to steal a Spark of Exigence. However, she didn't just want to chose her own champion, she could not so drain her own power at a critical time so she approached Typharos to share the burden, spinning it as a way to repay her debt to him for his part in The Ocean Fathers demotion.
- As two allied Western War Gods their essence was aligned enough to prevent a patchwork Exigence. While he is considered a Chosen of Typharos, God of Mutiny, he bares some marks of Siakal's influence. (Possibly Gills, Shark Teeth, etc - depending on available merits.)
- As an illicit Exalt he is not closely monitored by either God, however the mission they have tasked him is broad enough to need little direct supervision, and mostly distant support and intervention on his behalf.

God
The ancient God of Mutiny, Typharos, has never been respected by his peers. An outcast who's place in heaven is secure, because so few covet it. When the bronze faction approached him for his help at the twilight of the first age as they planned The Usurpation, he listened to their sweet words and full promises and when the Dragon Blooded of the West rose up against their Solar captains, they did so with all the blessings and might the god could muster. No small number of Solar captains met their end in the Western seas, but so too did many of the mutineers feed the siakas of the West with their spilled blood, sowing the seeds of an uneasy future alliance.
The Bronze Faction and their allies could convey titles, and so The God of Mutiny became The Flame of the Ocean,The Western God of Revolution and Violent Uprisings. However, they could not convey the respect of his Godly peers, and many, especially those less aligned with The Bronze Faction, did not give him any more respect than before. Behind his back, they called him The Mutineers Prince, and eventually the mockery became an open only slightly rude alias. The tighter he attempted to grip the respect he felt his new title should have brought, the more it slipped away and his resentment for both sides grew.
- The Western God of Revolution and Righteous Vengeance, The Flame of the Ocean, The Mutineers Prince, Patron of Revolution, Violent Uprising, Just Vengeance, and Mutineers.
- A minor god in The Ocean Court and Western Division of War, who is often suppressed by their fellow gods for fear they would destabilize the region.
- Longtime ally of Siakal, Western Goddess of Battle and Bloodshed who centuries ago helped to demote The Ocean Father as The Great Western God of the Sea, who Siakal wants to replace.
- Considers themselves a righteous God of the downtrodden people of Creation, a figure of hope that inspires the downtrodden to take up arms against their oppressors and bring righteous revolution.
- Often receives worship from slaves and captives. But also mutineers who pray that if their mutiney is considered just it will go unpunished by the gods.
- "It is the ambition of his god that he will not only be a spark to the powder keg that is The West, fueling revolution and bloodshed - but more importantly shine a light on the good such revolution brings.
- They have been looked down upon their entire existence. Originally simply The Mutineer's Prince the Good of Mutiny which is a grave sin to most in the west, it was with Siakal's help they were elevated to The Western God of Revolution and Righteous Vengeance - though that title is somewhat self promoted. Now the god again hopes to move up in the Celestial Hierarchy both by graining power by sowing revolution in the west, but also gaining respect and legitimacy by showing that revolution can benefit Creation. The Ocean Father would never allow such advancement which has made Siakal a natural, if delicate ally. "
