I was meaning to post job info tonight, but straightening out my work shit took a lot longer than I'd hoped.  If anyone is the mood to brainstorm, Ash and Fay should start thinking about how to sneak themselves into a seminar given by a famous politician at the Spiral Academy (having the politician disappear and trying to slip in Ash or Fay as a last-minute ringer comes to mind).  Spiral Academy security is pretty tight, and the guest list is highly exclusive and enforced as such - no "friends of a friend" or "new junior senator's aide" is going to get into this one.  Multiple copies of the guest list exist and they are cross-referenced by security commanders at the event via Wind-Carried words.  It is expected that the White-Veil society leadership will be present on this day. Although it is possible to sneak into the Spiral Academy in the days preceding the lecture (when security is more lax) and stay in the building until then, the known protection of Bronze-Faction Sidereals given to the building makes an extended presence there extremely risky.  Zealot and Opal will be parachuting onto the roof of the building under a cloud of mist generated by Naru's smoke-generator.  The Geronimo will then lower a fake spire onto the Spiral Academy's real spire, concealing Opal and Zealot while they cut a hole in the roof, placing them in the attic.  I'm going to post the full mission info Tuesday.

How willing will the senior members of the organization be to cooperate with Ash's vindictive and probably unnecessary whims?
Depending on that answer.... Some plan ideas I have for Fay and Ash and Mesa.
# Through pretty much all of these plans I have Mesa entering the event as a member of the band. I figure this gives him the ability to get a bit different response and talk to different people than Fay and Ash. Doesn't put all of their social eggs in one basket.
# We kidnap and kill the speaker and force the higher ups in the event planning to rush pick a new speaker for the event. Likely to a senior professor at the Spiral Academy, Fay and Ash work their way onto the staff of the replacement speaker. Ash likes this plan because it gives us the added bonus of getting our hands on the speaker, who is a friend and mentor to Altair. Ash would be in favor of kidnapping and questioning him as harshly as The Grass Spiders deem necessary. Depending on the info we learn throughout the mission and from him we can adjust what we want to do with him. Ash is in favor of killing him regardless, as a way to strike back at Altair if nothing else.
# Fay and Ash can disguise themselves as servants of one of the invited guests and enter as one of the servants brought to the event, this might allow a sort of unique access. Once they are safely inside they could change their disguises to attendees of the event, with a guest list of 300 and half of them being guests of the invited, we should be able to safely disguise ourselves as 2 guests of attendees.
# Since we have the guest list for about 3 days before hand, Fay and Ash could scope the guest list for a couple of attendees that they could most easily impersonate. With 3 days of dedicated study before the event the two of them should be able to gather a pretty good amount of information to make the impersonations believable. This of course could carry a pretty significant risk if personal interaction becomes necessary with people well acquainted with them. We also run the added risk/bonus of picking members of the WVS but that would probably just turn out bad.
*As a side note. Ash would use language learning ritual and have Leviticus teach him Low Realm and Old Realm to go along with his knowledge of High Realm. Is it possible to learn a language natively with language learning ritual? I don't think the charm says, I think it would be semi reasonable if it could. Or maybe if you already know a language, you can use the charm to sound native in a language you already know? Let me know, Ash is trying to find a way to sound native to the realm. Though he can make it work if not.

  1. Through pretty much all of these plans I have Mesa entering the event as a member of the band. I figure this gives him the ability to get a bit different response and talk to different people than Fay and Ash. Doesn't put all of their social eggs in one basket.
  2. We kidnap and kill the speaker and force the higher ups in the event planning to rush pick a new speaker for the event.
  3. Fay and Ash can disguise themselves as servants of one of the invited guests and enter as one of the servants brought to the event, this might allow a sort of unique access. Once they are safely inside they could change their disguises to attendees of the event, with a guest list of 300 and half of them being guests of the invited, we should be able to safely disguise ourselves as 2 guests of attendees.
  4. Since we have the guest list for about 3 days before hand, Fay and Ash could scope the guest list for a couple of attendees that they could most easily impersonate.
  • As a side note.
