The Story So Far
Plot Summary
The story began when Kit Magnar, Lazarus, and another unsuspecting Solar wandered into Great Forks, each following a cloaked figure who'd appeared to them in the forests surrounding the city, claiming to bear information about the true nature of their recent Exaltations.  Meanwhile, as they were led to a predetermined spot in Fulbright Plaza, one Great Forks's larger markets, they were tailed by three Wyld Huntsmen, V'neef Phobos Rictor, Cynis Belar Aldaris, and Peleps Argon Tannaeus.  Battle erupted quickly, and though things seemed an easy victory for the Dynasts at first, they had failed to take into account the fact that the Gold Faction had been watching Kit Magnar's thread in the Loom of Fate for sometime.  Be it fate or chance, Steel Heart's Fury, Lunar protector of Kit Magnar's barbarian tribe, and Whispers From Beyond, an Abyssal assassin sent by the Cult of the Illuminated to take out a mark who happened to be one of the aforementioned cloaked figures, were in the area and joined the battle.  With their aid, Lazarus and Kit managed to survive, though Kit was wounded and captured by Aldaris, who promptly absconded with her unconscious form upon realizing the battle was a lost cause.

Shortly after the Fulbright Plaza incident, the characters were contacted by Aktuelle, a Zenith caste Solar priest who was doubling as a spymaster in Great Forks for the Sidereals. Under the direction of the Gold Faction, Aktuelle helped the group to organize a rescue mission, realizing that having Kit Magnar as an ally was crucial to the Gold Faction's cause. The crew decided that Greyfalls was a likely holding location for Kit, and though they went to some lengths to obtain a detailed map of the area in the event of an infiltration being necessary, they deemed it more prudent to attempt to overtake the Wyld Huntsmen on their way back. The group departed immediately for Greyfalls. Their first major stop was in a village known as Greenwood Pass, where, after briefly investigating a series of strange events, the group encountered a former Immaculate monk named Fei Wang, who, after competing with them in a series of trials, revealed to them that Aldaris had visited in hopes of learning an ancient, forbidden technique. Impressed with their performance in his trials, he disclosed the location of Aldaris's brief pause in his journey -- He would await reinforcements in Boneford. This was where the characters had their best shot at reaching him.

Fury scouted ahead as the characters progressed to Boneford, recruiting the help of both wandering Lookshy rangers and the tribespeople who resided in the shaded Canopy Cove. After a week's time, the group arrived in Boneford and engaged Aldaris, Rictor, and their men in combat. Despite moderate losses incurred by Lazarus's troops, the group claimed a victory, and through their cooperative effort were able to fall Rictor in combat and save Kit Magnar. Some of the group's members were severely wounded, but an immediate exit was necessary, so they departed for Canopy Cove, where they stayed until Kit was well enough to travel. Though they headed back to Great Forks thusly, they had two unnerving encounters with a possible Death Knight along the way. After spending some time in Great Forks, Kit Magnar came to the decision that she would visit the tomb of her previous incarnation in order to better ascertain the true nature of her Solar existence. As Saros was quickly informed by Ayesha Ura, the tomb contained incriminating details of the Usurpation, and a Chosen of the Maiden of Secrets, it was Saros's function to ensure that the documents remained undiscovered. Secretly, he forged ahead to Kit's tomb, where his difficulties in dealing with its various automated defenses led to a destruction of a good portion of the tomb. Kit was able to determine little from what remained, and was devastated by the loss. Left with little other option, she came to the conclusion that her Exaltation was a calling for her to experience the various locales and perils Creation had to offer, and she resolved to travel the world.

The Gold Faction, not yet about to lose their influence of Kit Magnar, directed Saros to persuade Kit to accept an escort to Chiaroscuro, the Black Ice Shadow. Though Saros was tepid in his success, the concerted efforts of the group managed to convince Kit that given the amount of danger her life had already been in since her Exaltation, it might be wise to accept an escort. The group headed to Denandsor to rendezvous with her escort, and after encountering some brief trouble there while carrying out some recreational grave robbery, Kit Magnar bid the group farewell and headed to the desert paradise of Chiaroscuro, accompanied by the fearsome Black Ice Shadow.

Saros was relieved of his duties to the Gold Faction shortly thereafter, but not before Aldaris threatened his sister Sarefine's life, forcing him to make a deal with Domino, placing him greatly into debt.

With that, Kit Magnar had been rescued, but nobody knew, least of all Kit, if these initial dangers were merely shadows of things to come. Their mutual tie severed, the group parted ways. None of them had any idea how soon their paths would again across when the greater Great Forks area became threatened by the tyranny of an undead god and his insane coterie of spirits.
