The Kingdom of Nechara is one of the most well known city-states in The Hundred Kingdoms, though it's prominence in history and culture far outweigh it's modern influence. Located on the Eastern Border of The Hundred Kingdoms, situated at the foot of a mountain pass and controlling the fertile fields that surround it. Four centuries ago the mountain pass was the site of an epic battle between allied forces of The Hundred Kingdoms, The Guild, and The Seventh Legion against a mighty Arczeckhi Horde invasion. The Horde was defeated and it's strength crippled for centuries such that it has not attempted a full on invasion since and stuck to raiding and pillaging before retreating back to unclaimed wilderness. Meanwhile The Guild and Seventh Legion have used that victory as a foothold for trade and influence in the region and are major players throughout The Hundred Kingdoms.

The Treaty of Nechara was signed shortly after this battle which binds the various governments in The Hundred Kingdoms to The Confederation of Rivers at large and protects against existential outside threats while allowing the them the autonomy they desire. Meanwhile, The Guild was free to spread it's economic influence throughout the lands far and wide while The Seventh Legion gained an important strategic alliance in dealing with The Realm in Greyfalls. Nechara meanwhile became a historical footnote, a relic, and a memorial. However, the people who fled for safety never returned and it never recovered to the economic or military power it had once been.

Regent Kaskos has been the head of the Council of Elders that governs Nechara for nearly two decades. He is an old man, a veteran of years ranging the mountains and protecting his Kingdom with his blade who now does so through wisdom. But age and tumult had made him weary and he senses the growing danger in the mountains and knows his people cannot hold it back alone...
