==Background==
===Pre-Awakening===
Ken Wilson was born, the son of two Americans, on a United States military base on mainland Japan. His father was a low ranking officer in the U.S. army stationed there for several years; his mother, who was always a lost soul, followed her husband to Japan solely because she did not know what else to do. The birth of Ken seemed to give his mother some purpose for several years, but when Ken was 3 they moved back to the U.S. and trouble began for the family. Ken's father was unable or unwilling to find work back at home and his mother had grown used to being supported by the military paycheck, unfortunately with neither of them working that money soon ran dry. By the time Ken was 5 the family was living off welfare and the family was nearly falling apart, it was only a matter of time before it did. One night Ken's mother did not come back from a night of likely drug use and prostitution, Ken did not see her again throughout the rest of his childhood. Ken and his father managed to get by on welfare and disability by living in poverty, Ken was able to attend inner city public schools where he received more of an education about the streets than about the school curriculum. Once Ken was old enough to work he did so while still attending school, though it no doubt contributed to his below average marks throughout school. Ken did manage to graduate from high school and received an athletic scholarship to attend a small college near his home town.

College was a place where Ken could flourish, without the constant distraction of a shattered family he was able to excel both athletically and in his school work. He made his first set of friends while at school and learned what life was like outside of the slums of the city. Ken graduated with a degree in Psychology in four years and immediately entered the police academy. He excelled during his time at the academy and was quickly given his badge, ranking as one of the finest recruits in the class. Over several years in the police force Ken worked on several special duties and received multiple commendations, resulting in meteoric rise to detective.
===The Awakening===
Ken served as a detective in the police force for only a few months before he was called out late one night to investigate a multiple homicide. It was his first case on his own, his senior decided not to answer the phone so late at night, and he arrived in what appeared to be a dilapidated old building with a substantial amount of police force waiting outside, Ken couldn't help but notice two black sedans parked suspiciously close by. Ken entered to discover what appeared to be a triple suicide not homicide as he discovered 3 bodies hanging by their necks from the ceiling, the officer who found the bodies informed him that there was an apparent struggle and a possible suspect was in the building but seemingly disappeared despite their best efforts to find him. Ken did all the standard detective work, investigating the entire building and sending what little evidence he could find to forensics for analysis (unfortunately the criminal did not leave semen everywhere so it would be a tough case). Something did not sit quite right with Ken about the whole situation and he spent a lot of time dwelling on the case the following day; that night he was awoken by a dream telling him to go back to the building.

Confused he followed what he figured was only a hunch and returned to the scene, now just a taped off empty building he entered the haunting, dark scene alone. After looking around for a few minutes his flashlight suddenly turned off and was followed by the sound of footsteps quickly closing in around him. They stopped short and once his eyes adjusted he saw, to his surprise the shadow of what appeared to be a frail old man stroking a long beard. The man spoke after a tense moment of silence, "The light blinds you from your destiny brother." Ken awoke with a cold sweat, it was already morning, was it all a dream?
===Post-Awakening===
Despite being unsure what had just happened to him, Ken was a different man the following day. He left early for work and stopped by at the scene where he had been the night before, he saw it all in a new light quickly putting the pieces of what had happened together. He was about to leave when he heard familiar footsteps again, he turned to see the man who had only been an outline to him the night before. Somehow Ken did not find himself surprised by this, and as if the old man could read his mind he simply smiled then spoke once more, "Welcome brother, you now understand what you have always understood, but the time for learning has just begun."

After that day Ken spent as much time training and learning with his new master as he did spending time attending to the rest of his life. Despite not putting the time he formally did into his job his new found abilities allowed him to adequately keep up with his work while providing just as much for his other duties. Ken is in a unique position for one of his kind and he has learned that there is much to gain from being within the system so often controlled by their enemies. He must remain very discrete with his powers or he shall be discovered and no doubt lose his job in an organization controlled from the top by the technocrats. Background

Pre-Awakening

The Awakening

Post-Awakening

While he remains undercover however he is able to leak information out to his various brothers, content at the moment to collect favors for keeping cabals one step ahead of their enemies while he continues his own personal path to enlightenment.

Personality

Ken is an eccentric person whose demeanor often changes dramatically despite only minor changes in environment. Most commonly Ken is seen as a serious, calm figure who has very little time to waste; however, those who know him better know that his serious demeanor is often only skin deep. Ken has embraced the Akasic philosophy which has taught him deep relaxation, as a result Ken is often calm and almost disinterested during the gravest of circumstances. Not prone to show emotion or freak out in a crisis he often takes a moment to think peacefully before any action, despite the urgency of the situation. This calm and collected figure is accepted to be Ken's normal self, however certainly not the only side of his personality.

Despite his tranquil personality under dire circumstances Ken has been known to lose control when put in awkward situations that pertain to what he considers his 'normal life'. This is especially evident when the situation involves a normal mortal, most especially if it will get him in trouble with his girlfriend. Ken's sometimes frantic action when faced in these dilemmas is often comedic as he acts as if the wrath of his girl friend outweighs the threat of pursuing hitmarks or the destruction of a marauder. This comedic edge breaks up the zen qualities that make up the bulk of his personality, though even without it he is not nearly as out of touch as many Akasic Brothers become.
