YAY FOR UPDATING THE WIKI

Next Session

Next Monday is Jonny's 21st birthday, and we have plans to go to the Lizard that night. Not looking good for RP. I propose maybe a daytime session on Saturday or Sunday, if nothing else is going on. My mom will be in town, so I may have to renege on that too. We shall see. Kirkland 03:04, 26 April 2011 (EDT)

Lately

I haven't posted in forever. Sorry about that - in the case of Star Wars, this was actually careless reading on my part. Tony's last post left me, not Brian, poised to respond. I actually missed that. I'm going to post a reply by tomorrow evening.

As per seems to be normal, things have been pretty hectic, to the extent that I've sort of put writing moments and stories on the back-burner (although if anyone has momentum in this direction, I'd love to talk ideas, this might get me jazzed up enough to force some time in that direction). That said, I have no intention letting our Star Wars game die. I've resigned that it's actually easiest for me to post during my lunch break, which is not a big deal. I'm going to do my best to impose a 72-hour for myself on replies to that. My lack of Star Wars reply since last time has been an unfortunate combo of busyness and misreading.

Hope Shadowrun is going well. There's still nothing started up here (classes always end up taking more time than we think they will), although there remains enough interest that I think we could get a group (probably for DnD, but hey, I'll take it) going next quarter.

I'm still puzzling over my top 10 characters. It's like picking a favorite child. Also, there's still time to get Final Fantasy tickets for this summer - do we wanna do that? It'd be awesome if any of you guys ever want to take a trip to Chicago (for the concert or for any reason, haha) and come see my 'hood.

Talk to you all later. Feel better Brian.

No problem... Shadowrun has been taking up most of my creative energies anyway. Once the current SW chapter is wrapped up I will probably have put it on the backburner (maybe until the summer). Take your time.

I'm still puzzling over my top 10 characters. It's like picking a favorite child.

Wouldn't that make it fairly easy? I think I speak for the others as well when I say that it's pretty obvious who the favorites are in our families.

Definitely wouldn't mind a trip to Chicago. I don't see anything in the way of my attendance of the FF concert. It's on a weekend right? We should probably get a final head count and buy tickets together so we sit together...

I'm feeling better, should probably be back to 100% tomorrow. I'd be up for some Shadowrun this weekend, but if Tony is busy, I wouldn't mind just working on the mage group or whatever else. I've got nothing going on this weekend.

Cancelled until further notice, ugh...

I woke up feeling under-the-weather today... I don't know exactly what it is yet. But if I feel this way when I wake up tomorrow, I'm going to have to cancel RP :-(

Hold off on ordering pizza/making dinner until you hear from me... ugh

Kirkland 01:19, 10 February 2011 (EST)

Consider it cancelled unless you hear from me... I am feeling worse, so unless I wake up tomorrow with no fever and some energy, I don't think I'll be up for playing, and I don't want to get anyone else sick... maybe we can find some time this weekend, I was really pumped for this mission (still am) Kirkland 03:35, 10 February 2011 (EST)

Bummer dude. Feel better, we haven't missed many weeks so don't worry about it. This weekend isn't great for me between Valentines Day and I have a Volleyball tournament. --FyreFly 06:16, 10 February 2011 (EST)

Boooo! Hisssss! When is this volleyball tourney and Valentines date? I have no soccer this weekend. Do we want to try on Tony's free day? Probs not if its Friday? I have a calm weekend so Brian and I can always iron out the details on the magic group if nothing else. --Macabreengel 10:58, 10 February 2011 (EST)

Awesome Star Wars Fan Documentary

I think they are all available on youtube and this is the guy's blog. I watched the first 8 "Star Wars Begins" and they were pretty awesome, I'd recommend them for any Star Wars Fan. (They are a bit lengthy though)

LoL

Hi, just thought I should tell all of you having trouble connecting to the LOL server a small trick:

1) Browse to ...\Riot Games\League of Legends\html\js 2) Open main.js with a text editor 3) Find the line "if (!$(this).hasClass('play_button_disabled')) {" (without quotes) 4) Delete "if (!$(this).hasClass('play_button_disabled')) {" and the corresponding bracket.

It should look like: ... $('#play_button').click(function() {

Launcher.play();

return false; }); ... 5) Save and Enjoy!

Feel free to post any questions! Have fun playing!

Music

Stumbled upon some really good FF6 remixes that I hadn't heard before. Definitely worth a listen if you didn't already have them. This guy has some other good ones on his website as well

And a must have for any holiday parties

Gaming

World of Darkness MMO confirmed. Also, they've confirmed it centers around OWoD V:tM, which sits well with me.

Grass-Spiders

The focus of Grass-Spiders is character development. Although the missions are important, seeing the characters change and interact is my favorite part of this storyline. I've always thought that the coolest thing about Dragon-Bloods is that they are much more human in scope than Celestial Exalts. They have long, but not unfathomable lifespans. Their Exaltations are not necessarily a result of their excellence (although they still tend to excel), but a genetic phenomenon. They are mere men given inconceivable power. Ultimately, the Grass-Spiders is the story of how people handle this situation. Right now, our characters are pretty much people with jobs. They get up and work. Granted, their jobs are incredibly lucrative and impossibly thrilling, but such is the nature of Exalted. But where will they be in 10 years? 50 Years? 200 years?

My approach to this storyline is have it played out over the lifetimes of the characters. Chapter 1 is indeed the early years, but Chapter 2 may, and likely will be 5 to 10 years later. Chapter 3 may be 20 years after that. As I said above, this is a character piece, and this is the story of the lives of these characters - they will become more influential in the organization. Maybe someday they'll run it. Maybe they'll have families. Maybe they'll leave the Order. Maybe they'll come back. Time will tell.

My plan is to finish out Chapter 1 this summer, before I go to Evanston. This will include a solid introduction to the metaplot, which will persist at least through Chapter 2 (the White Veil Society works very subtly - most of the time - so 5 to 10 years is a perfectly reasonable timeline for their plans). That will proceed as it has been, and it will just last for as many sessions as we can play. Once I get to Evanston, the playing style will be as follows:
